Sweaters are early maturing thus preferred in stag derby.

Sano...X as a multiplier as in seX or croxxes...whitelegged kelso cockside dink/jumper preferred...henside possum line dink/nesmith preferred...fight them from stag to wheelchair bound...

hahahaha, I would say fight them as stags around 8-10 months, and as cocks, 2 years. Just seems to be the age most fight at.

Our observation leads us to believe that sweaters' performance decline after age 3 including those crossed to other lines except roundheads. This cross continues to get better with time.

Sweaters are known for their athletic abilities. I think it is best to try them as stags.

Cowan, Dan Gray and Lacy. Our philosophy is that we need RH blood for long knife competition. Just our approach.....

Sir - What side of the mating you are using sweater and what % of the cross you are using the RH's (especially the Lacy)?

Both ways but if the RH is on the cock side we only use 1/2 of the sweater and when the Sweater is on the cock side we use 3/4 of the RH.

If they are cross with a good winning line they will continue to win regardless of age..Our observation leads us to believe that sweaters' performance decline after age 3 including those crossed to other lines except roundheads. This cross continues to get better with time.

Wow! Bold statement with the operative word "WILL." I think a lot of folks here would aver that this sport is not that easy. One thing I learned is that there is no SURE thing.

Maybe a 7 year old will still do the trick with this cross...

Heck! lets do this combo! We dont need to breed that much and, we can fight and they WILL win regardless of age.. wow! i can keep 3 chickens in my kitchen and fight all year round.

Depends on how good they fight...stags or cocks it doesn't matter as long as they start impressing me.

Like I said, "WILL WIN" in your initial post is a definitive statement. If that's the case then you don't need any other factor, including luck - as per your latest post, to WIN.
