Ask the locals specially your concierge...

Say you are interested in "Sabong Ayam"

They will understand you and point you the right way.

Regards.

there used to be a member who frequented this site

Hey Chito...Just look for some Filipinos....I have been to small time cockfights in Saudi, Angola, Nigeria...all after I made friends with some Filipinos on the jobsite. In Angola, once I went inside the compound where the fights were held, I thought I was at San Mateo Cockpit!!!! Those guys had a small place, but lots of good Filipino foods, palying cards, even Tagalog music.... lots of fun I had there.

Indonesia is a Muslin country and as such all gambling is illegal there. There is sabong in Bali but the police are getting more strict against it. There is one guy in Bali who imports roosters from the Philippines and has been quite succesful in finghting them.

Wow! Just like in the Philippines! :)

Hey didn't you notice the white rooster "squeaked" at the 29 second mark?! :D

Looks like david vs. goliath, white rooster (bankiva) and red roosted (asil)...

Thanks for sharing...

Bali, unlike most of Indonesia is predominantly Hindu, not Muslim. So there's lechon and sabong. But, getting heat too from the authorities.

even when travelling, once a cocker.....
Just had to check out how they do it there..

I was in Angola from 1997 to 2000. We normally held derby on Saturdays mostly 3 cocks at around 10 to 15 entries. One Saturday I had two entries and both got the champion. I love Angola than any other countries I have been to. www.calvinjfarm.org (http://www.calvinjfarm.org)

sir dagtoy,

I used to work in Batam too and lived and Nagoya. We used to eat in Pujasera (not sure if spelling is correct) and like their Alpokat and Ayam Kechap. All a short walk from there will bring you to the Ladies Dorms...hehehe. We used to play basketball in that area too.

I believe I still have some more friends working there since we already lost contact and some of them married Indonesians. I like their Nasi ayam, Nasi Goreng, anything with Nasi...Nasi Lemak (malay style)...know what...we also learned how to speak Bahasa Indonesia and listen to their Indonesian Love Songs.

cheers!

Sir dagtoy69, you can start your own farm at no time if you want. hehehe! and yes! I still remember everything. hehehe!
too bad that the Sabong in sungai panas had been stop. It was
a good show although they tied their knife (w/out garol) to the roosters prop toe and they also believe that the knife
on the right leg was a partida with respect to the knife that was set on the left leg. Good day sir dagtoy69.:D
