Aloha,
The winningest breed of chicken in the P.I. is Sweater or gilmore hatches.
As for you're Brood materials, I'm not sure but check out a game cock book.
Good Luck,

youcan take your pick from at least 20 breeders in the pi with superb fowl yr after yr, the number of breeders with good fowl is quite a few, no one breeder dominates, but i would start with good lemon blood (sweaters & gilmores????).

You may try sourcing your breeding materials from Bebot Uy of Davao City. Prices were posted earlier on this thread...
Remember, you must start right, the first time and all the time. Purchase your breeding materials only from known breeders.. Good Luck!

Dicky lim he is very consistent in WSC,... very elusive fighter with deep cutting ability and sometimes he uses white which is very seldom in WSC. He said it's lemon...lemon....lemon. but i doubt... meaning he makes it secretly.

Taritari, find a good breeder, not a cocker(i.e. Dicky Lim is not a breeder. Infact, he's buying birds from farms or financing them in the big derbies, like JMS farm of Roxas City, Capiz. Although, he also breeds some but is not concentrating on breeding.). A cocker has the tendency to keep the good fowls from you for his personal use. Mahirap yung may secret secret pa, just like what rmndafable was saying on the above post. I suggest you should know the cocker/breeder first before you buy fowls from him. Try the good breeders in Negros who really is focusing on breeding. Lastly, try the Lemons... you can't go wrong.

who has winningest? if u r pertaining to a person, i think no other than Mr. Patrick Antonio inarguably the winningest cocker in the Phil. but if u r talking of certain breed of fowl, many will agree on LEMONS. Sweater is making name for sometime but if u compared to the credentials of lemon, i think lemon deserves the title to be the winningest breed.

PA? maybe today he's breeding his own fowls in tandem with some american breeder....but i think negros fowls made him famous in this sport...hehehe...here is my recommendation. NENE ABELLO for sweaters, JOEY LACSON for high-action hatches and LDT for roundheads...im sure you'll never go wrong!!!

you are right sir!!!
what year that the sweater started winning in the philippine cockpit???
what year that the lemons winning started in the philippine cockpit???
who are the famous breeders of the philippines and what bloodlines they use???
we will try to admit that negros is the only province who has the breeders that mainly 80% of the top breeders in the philippines...and what made them famous???? their winning line....
their was and old saying in negros...if you had no lemon in your yards you are not a breeder....
lemon stands for 30 years in philippine long knife cockfigthing!!!
what breed stands that long??? sweater, hatches, roundheads, clarets they come and go...
what about lemons???? they always come and will always come....
for me it is the wiseist and winningest slasher line in the philippines..thats why i breed them

in terms of materials for breeding, you go to davao and look for PGD gamefarm of paul dominguez. he has all the imported sweaters, hatches, roundhead, bruce barnetts fowls and many more. dont count on the money you will buy for them, but look for the quality.
good luck and make the right choice..

You didn't say where you live at present. But if you are living in the States now, this is where all breeders get their breeding materials. Ex. sweaters from NeSmith, Dink Fair, Bruce Barnett, Gene Batia etc.; Roundhead from Dan Gray, George Wood, Dee Coc etc. You name it they have it all. And most breeders in PI update or freshen up their bloodline from broodfowls coming from the States.
