3PM na of Sunday ko abot sa Isabel kay ako gibilin ang L2 sa Mitsubishi Tacloban gurang naman ako gipafacelift para mawala ang mga kunot2 sa nawong hex3, commute mga amigos from Tacloban to Ormoc then Isabel. I left Jaro Coliseum 10 AM of Sunday medyo wala ko kasabot sa padagan sa derby example, daghan nay nagwaiting pero ang 1st fight ni bai Patrick 7AM na ang ako 1st sab 1AM wheew grabe pilawa paabot ug taas2 ang thrill and excitement but prior to that, ako gihangyo ang management nga ilisan ako kontra sa 1st fight kay kang Eming Codilla!ngano man nga ija ang gikontra pagkalayo sa drive adto na lang sa Ormoc kon si bai Eming gihapon ang makontra, anyway, wala jud mosugot ang promoter sige na lang, that's a very simple Win wa katujo pero nagarolan ang pako sa akoa, nabalda gihap hux3. Less to say about the derby as most of the particulars were texted to both bai Cholo and bai Naval. Yesterday, around 6PM I had a long talk with bai Ben Comeo of New Jersey,USA ang ija score 0 - 0 - no fight na ang last. Next time na sab bai Ben and the rest of the EVGBAns who did not make it. Latest plan guys: Since I will be leaving on Tuesday Oct. 31 back to work ang be back last Friday of November, I am proposing a meeting at my residence in Isabel on Saturday 10AM with only one topic: WINGBANDING = this will be for our stag derby circuit next year

We can hold derbies anywhere in Leyte, Samar and Biliran Island. We already held derbies in the following venues:
1. Baybay Amusement Center, Baybay, Leyte
2. Tanauan Gallera, Tanauan, Leyte
3. Nadongholan Cockpit, Ormoc City

And if we can find an anchor man in Samar, we are planning to hold a derby in there as well in the near future.

Our next area of consideration is Biliran but during a circuit derby, it was recently agreed that all will be conducted in Nadongholan, Ormoc City. Circuit means stag derbies but for cock derbies, we can hold them in any place covered by our association. Thanks for visiting.

Unja nawala tong ako post ganiha hux3 pagkataas na ra ba unta anyway, here is it again. There was only one subject of the meeting: WINGBANDING for the next stag season. This started at 10:45AM and ended at 12:30 HN.

This was opened by yours truly and the following points were agreed:

1. Wing banding Period = March 1 to April 15, 2007
Criteria to be considered = 4 - 4 Primary during March and 4 - 3 minimum during April. Doc Joey Cortes pointed out that we have to produce a December born stag as our reference for the above.

2. Wing banding Scenario = the areas covered by the EVGBA will be divided into groups. The scheduled wing banding as per Item 1 will be drawn by lot for the Wing banding Team to visit that particular area. Only a member is entitled for his stags to be banded however, a non-member can have his stags banded only if a member will stand as his sponsor. If a member is not around during the banding, he can request the team to come back to his area only he shoulders the transportation expenses of the team. To avoid this situation, the team must see to it that the notice of the visit is clearly defined.

3. Requirements = as brought up by bai Bernie Tacoy the 1st 30 stags for banding = free and above 30 will be 10 pesos/stag. Only stags owned by an EVGBA member will be banded however, a non-member can still avail provided a member will stand as sponsor. A 50 % of the entry fee of the main derby as down payment will be asked. This will be deductible from his entry fee.

4. Circuit Stag Derbies = there will be 3 stag derbies for the 2007 Circuit with the main prizes and awards to be given during the completion of the circuit. This will comprise of the following: 3 - stag derby during the month of September, 4 - stag(main) derby during the 1st week of October and a 3 - stag derby during the last week of October. These said derbies are exclusive for EVGBA members only using EVGBA banded stags, however a non-member entry is welcome on any of the derbies but it will not be entitled for the main prizes and awards, only the champion or insurance prize respectively if it will come up to be so. All stag derbies for the circuit will be held at Nadongholan Cockpit, Ormoc City.

5. Shortage of Stags = a question was raised by Engr. Dodong Pinar, Isabel SB member, a new EVGBA member. This was about if a member is short of stags, can he use stags without EVGBA wing band? In case a member is short of stags, he can field stags banded by any association provided they will pass the screening as per criteria, 7 - 7 primary, etc. There will no screening of such kind for EVGBA banded stags.

6. Banding Committee = Chairman: Doc Joey Cortes

7. Derby Committee = Chairman: bai Ramon Conopio
Note: Members list of these committees will be announced later

8. Number of Wing bands to be procured = 4,000

9. Sponsors for the Wing bands = Thunderbird - member to contact bai Bernie/bai Goldcock
Excellence - member to contact Bai Cholo Franco

10. Target Date of procurement = January 2007

11. Budget for the Wing banding Team = to be determined later

After the meeting, lunch was served, hope everybody enjoyed my compliment. All was set for the Pintakasi, there were 7 feathered warriors from EVGBA ready for the fight. 3 from bai Bernie Tacoy, 1 from bai Edwin Panta, 1 from bai Cholo and 2 from bai Monching.
1st Fight of the Day new member Engr. Dodong Pinar's stag vs. bai Cholo's stag, already a one-time winner. The VP's stag was hit right away during the 1st buckle but he displayed how he won during his last fight. A power stag but due to the 1st hit plus another on the neck?, it was a L for the VP and a W for bai Dodong Pinar

There were fights in between and Bai Bernie's 1st fight won and the humble promise of 5T even bet was raised to 8T. Congrats bai. Then several fights from the local sabongeros, then Bai Goldcock's stag came in. It was a very very llamado match but the luck was not on the EVGBA side, it was a L and of course mine too hux3. Then came bai Monching's fight ngeek vs. yours truly's. His was very quick on breaking the right leg of my warrior. It took 7 mins. though before finishing, congrats bai Monching, you owe me one this time hex3. Then Bai Bernie's 2nd fight. This was the fight of the two gold stags, the opponent was a hennie gold owned by new member bai Gingging Gubalane. This time bai Bernie's center bet was more than double the promised even bet, it was 12T. 8T was evenly bet and the 4T was on 4 - 3. Bai Bernie's very quick and power stag was not good enough for the the very smart fighter hennie stag, he/she won unscratched!
16 fights for the day, more than double of the usual 7 even during Sundays. So, anybody can imagine how the hackfights are managed in our place. If not for the EVGBA again, this could not have been possible.

After the pintakasi on October 28, a fiesta celebration in our compound was celebrated. There was a joke before as who is the Saint of the Chapel? And because they will not hold the fiesta celebration without yours truly's presence, my friends used to call the Saint as Saint Eduardo hex3. Anyway, the fiesta was in honor of Virgin of Peace, Virgin Del Carmen and one more saint.

most important point to remember mga abais is the banding dates. this is from

mar 01 to april 15,2007.

pass our 4:4 primaries criterion.


re evgba 3 stag/cock derby. sorry to inform you that for lack of preparations,

we have cancelled this activity for november. most of the entries that confirmed

participation using all stags are evgba members, and they are not many. so, we

will be forced to face each others' stags again. anyways, we will plan a bigger

derby next year. small entry fee with big guaranteed prize and hopefully by this

time ALL MEMBERS can participate.

We see the big difference now with you around, with your entries, Samar area already feel the physical presence of EVGBA not only by imagination as before, what I mean is, they might hear the existence of the group but with the exception of those who came to Leyte held derbies, most still on the WAIT and SEE phenomenon. Although, we have a sudden rise of new members from the area, to have more is always better and your representation will bring more impact and manifestation of what EVGBA is. Thanks sangkay and I will be on days off most part of December that's why if you can make it that is, your planned vacation, we can have a talk with the rest of the members but if we miss seeing you, rest assured, you will be aware of what's going on either by email or PM. We will disseminate the details of those derbies that you've mentioned to our Tacloban based members and hopefully, we will have additional entries there to boost you up.

1. Wing banding Period = March 1 to April 15, 2007
Criteria to be considered = 4 - 4 Primary during March and 4 - 3 minimum during April. Doc Joey Cortes pointed out that we have to produce a December born stag as our reference for the above.

2. Wing banding Scenario = the areas covered by the EVGBA will be divided into groups. The scheduled wing banding as per Item 1 will be drawn by lot for the Wing banding Team to visit that particular area. Only a member is entitled for his stags to be banded however, a non-member can have his stags banded only if a member will stand as his sponsor. If a member is not around during the banding, he can request the team to come back to his area only he shoulders the transportation expenses of the team. To avoid this situation, the team must see to it that the notice of the visit is clearly defined.

3. Requirements = as brought up by bai Bernie Tacoy the 1st 30 stags for banding = free and above 30 will be 10 pesos/stag. Only stags owned by an EVGBA member will be banded however, a non-member can still avail provided a member will stand as sponsor. A 50 % of the entry fee of the main derby as down payment will be asked. This will be deductible from his entry fee.

4. Circuit Stag Derbies = there will be 3 stag derbies for the 2007 Circuit with the main prizes and awards to be given during the completion of the circuit. This will comprise of the following: 3 - stag derby during the month of September, 4 - stag(main) derby during the 1st week of October and a 3 - stag derby during the last week of October. These said derbies are exclusive for EVGBA members only using EVGBA banded stags, however a non-member entry is welcome on any of the derbies but it will not be entitled for the main prizes and awards, only the champion or insurance prize respectively if it will come up to be so. All stag derbies for the circuit will be held at Nadongholan Cockpit, Ormoc City.

5. Shortage of Stags = a question was raised by Engr. Dodong Pinar, Isabel SB member, a new EVGBA member. This was about if a member is short of stags, can he use stags without EVGBA wing band? In case a member is short of stags, he can field stags banded by any association provided they will pass the screening as per criteria, 7 - 7 primary, etc. There will no screening of such kind for EVGBA banded stags.

BACK ON LINE: It was a discouraging situation when you tried to reply to relevant matters on our association and you are being denied of the access. I was to call it quits paano kasi more than a dozen times akong nagpost, quits to the posting but sige pa rin ako sa sabong although this is not the way my better-half wants it hex3. I remember kasi when I operated passenger jeepneys before Isabel-Ormoc and vice versa route, quarterly I have to file, INCOME TAX RETURNS and one time, I was in the BIR office doing the filing, I was already in front of this lady officer, in front of her table standing for about 15 minutes and it seemed that she ignored my purpose of going to the office but still I waited, only to be asked some none-sense questions, so what I did, I threw my papers in front of her in her table and said, WHAT DO YOU THINK, WITHOUT THESE JEEPNEYS, MY FAMILY CAN NOT EAT? then left and you know when my wife knew it, the following day she came to the same lady officer and they became friends!!!approved ang income tax statement ko, kaya kung ako pa ang naglakad lahat sa SEC registration natin nuon, malamang dis-approved ngeek! the only government office that I am comfortable with is our local municipal office because you know it’s a sickening situation the so-called, iba na ang kilala, OF COURSE our Philippine Overseas Employment Agency, is the other way around, of all the government entities, ito naman ay iba(Cebu or Tacloban ha ewan ko lang sa Maynila?), you are treated with due respect and no delays in your transactions, with no under the table strategy. Re-sharing: In my idea, 500Php/share man, iyong balance sa kurambos fund ngayon which is Php 32,870.00 irecalculate in terms of ilan na lang ang number of shares ang naiwan sa individual financer member to the fund. Example in my particular case as one of the financers, kung say 10 shares ako ORIGINALLY, then after the recalculation 3.5 shares na lang ang akin, after this derby kung sakali buwenas ang kurambos KNOCK!KNOCK!KNOCK! sana nga hex3, then for example again kung nagput-up ka ng 10 shares, your winning will be calculated according to your 10 shares, my winning will be calculated according to the 3.5 shares that I actually have left and so with the other financer members. The boys saw the father's joy at his son being accepted. In the bottom of the eighth inning, Shay's team scored a few runs but was still behind by three. In the top of the ninth inning, Shay put on a glove and played in the right field. Even though no hits came his way, he was obviously ecstatic just to be in the game and on the field, grinning from ear to ear as his father waved to him from the stands. In the bottom of the ninth inning, Shay's team scored again. Now, with two outs and the bases loaded, the potential winning run was on base and Shay was scheduled to be next at bat.

At this juncture, do they let Shay bat and give away their chance to win the game? Surprisingly, Shay was given the bat. Everyone knew that a hit was all but impossible because Shay didn't even know how to hold the bat properly, much less connect with the ball.

However, as Shay stepped up to the plate, the pitcher, recognizing that the other team was putting winning aside for this moment in Shay's life, moved in a few steps to lob the ball in softly so Shay could at least make contact. The first pitch came and Shay swung clumsily and missed. The pitcher again took a few steps forward to toss the ball softly towards Shay. As the pitch came in, Shay swung at the ball and hit a slow ground ball right back to the pitcher.

The game would now be over. The pitcher picked up the soft grounder and could have easily thrown the ball to the first baseman. Shay would have been out and that would have been the end of the game.

Instead, the pitcher threw the ball right over the first baseman's head, out of reach of all team mates. Everyone from the stands and both teams started yelling, "Shay, run to first! Run to first!" Never in his life had Shay ever run that far, but he made it to first base. He scampered down the baseline, wide-eyed and startled.

Everyone yelled, "Run to second, run to second!" Catching his breath, Shay awkwardly ran towards second, gleaming and struggling to make it to the base. By the time Shay rounded towards second base, the right fielder had the ball ... the smallest guy on their team who now had his first chance to be the hero for his team. He could have thrown the ball to the second-baseman for the tag, but he understood the pitcher's intentions so he, too, intentionally threw the ball high and far over the third-baseman's head. Shay ran toward third base deliriously as the runners ahead of him circled the bases toward home.

All were screaming, "Shay, Shay, Shay, all the Way Shay"

Shay reached third base because the opposing shortstop ran to help him by turning him in the direction of third base, and shouted, "Run to third! Shay, run to third!"

As Shay rounded third, the boys from both teams, and the spectators, were on their feet screaming, "Shay, run home! Run home!" Shay ran to home, stepped on the plate, and was cheered as the hero who hit the grand slam and won the game for his team.

"That day", said the father softly with tears now rolling down his face, "the boys from both teams helped bring a piece of true love and humanity into this world".

Shay didn't make it to another summer. He died that winter, having never forgotten being the hero and making his father so happy, and coming home and seeing his Mother tearfully embrace her little hero of the day!

help in the selection if funds permit. i think 10-12 heads for evgba use is best

The EASTERN VISAYAS GAMECOCK BREEDERS ASSOCIATION, INC. with its office located in H. Serafica and Sons Building, Real Street, Ormoc City, would like to apply for membership with the National Federation of Gamefowl Breeders. Presently, we have 50 enlisted members with farms located in Leyte and Samar areas. Below is the background of the association:

EASTERN VISAYAS GAMECOCK BREEDERS ASSOCIATION, INC.

From the thread that the Waray-Waray speaking sabungeros in Leyte and Samar started, there came the idea of forming an association of breeders and cockers within the region. For a while, the internet-user-cockers around the world with home base in the said region, enjoyed sharing the ideas and the joy of discussing about bloodlines, derbies, and the like, inherent in Filipinos being the Philippines as the emerging cocking and game fowls breeding capital of the world. Until such time that a thread poster followed by another, proposed a kitakits to discuss a would be project but to no avail. It came out that the plans were all just plans, but the proposed kitakits was never materialized. Then the thread came to a limbo and finally another thread was started by Engineer Luis Alilin, a.k.a. Izlo 77, a USA-based breeder-cocker, with his farm located in San Jose, Ormoc City, on December 31, 2004 and this is the Eastern Visayas Gamefowl Breeders Association. A new spirit rose up among the internet-user sabungeros and finally put all the plans into actions. A series of self-liquidating meetings were held in Ormoc City and among the first group of attendees were:

Till then, all the minutes of the meeting were put into actions and the first friendly 3-cock derby was held in Baybay, Leyte on April 9, 2005. In the morning of the derby day, another meeting was held, this time with additional member-attendees from Baybay and Southern Leyte, namely Earl Nunez, Doc Sonny Alfaro, Jigs Caday a.k.a. zhygz, a UK-based breeder/cocker with his farm located in Sogod, Southern Leyte and Paul Gleason a.k.a. TallPaulG, a USA-based breeder/cocker with his farm located in Hindang, Southern Leyte. After the derby, back to their individual PCs again, the first set of officers was formed:

Then to collect more member-participants in Waray-based sabungeros, a friendly getting-to-know each other 3-stag derby was held in Tanauan, Leyte on September 17, 2005. The member-participants graced the night before the derby day, a “kitakits” sponsored by Thunderbird Agrivet Supply. The official stag screener was no other than Mr. Raul Ebeo, the current CF president. This was the display of his masterpiece of screening the stags as out of the 82 entries that came up for screening, 30 + or - entries were disqualified and the stag derby went on, with all the participants, very satisfied with the proceedings. We had two(2) entries from our member a USA-based breeder/cocker with his farm located in Biliran, Biliran Island, Leyte, a CF Member bai Shanebo. At half-time break of the fights, the induction of officers was officiated by no other than Mr. Emoy Gorgonio himself.

Meanwhile, we were in the process of registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission. EVGBA participated in the CF-promoted derbies namely The CF Global Derby held in Araneta Coliseum on January 24-26, 2006, the CF Cybercup Midyear Derby in Gallera de Mandaue, Mandaue City on May 25-27, 2006, and in the 4-stag derby in San Juan Coliseum, Manila, also this year. It was another milestone for the two (2) EVGBA entries during the CF Global Derby in Araneta as we garnered two (2) straight wins for each entry during the elimination day. Both entries finished a 3-Win-2-Losses record.

Finally, the Eastern Visayas Gamefowl Breeders Association was registered with SEC as Eastern Visayas Gamecock Breeders Association Incorporated on February 14, 2006. On March 10, 2006, as an act of charity, we delivered a cash donation to the Guinsaugon, St. Bernard, Southern Leyte landslide calamity victims in the amount of Php 88,162.05. This was a combined effort of the CF, EVGBA and some concerned members of the Cebuano Speaking Sabungeros and with special mention to our member Sangkay Piranha a USA-based breeder/cocker with his farm located in Carigara, Leyte for buying the auctioned trio of another member bai Abai with the proceeds for the said charity effort. Another 4-cock derby was held in Baybay, Leyte on June 17, 2006 with guest entries from the Cebu Salot Cockers Club, bai Elson 55 and bai Emanon and from CVBA bai Victor Sierra with partner bai Bebot Monsanto. The last but not the least was the 4-stag derby at Nadongholan Cockpit, Ormoc City on September 1-2, 2006 again with guest entry from the Cebu Salot Cockers Club of bai Elson 55. Two days before this derby, there was a Gamecock Seminar held at Pongos Hotel,Ormoc City sponsored by Excellence and Purina with Mr. Manny Berbano, among others as the main speaker.

Our recent goal is to expand our activities and support the activities sponsored by the National Federation of Gamefowl Breeders and help our members participate in such major league as the Bakbakan Stag Derbies. This is only possible if we become a member-association of NFGB.

show was financed by mayor fuentes of isabel. lost against cong. codilla in the 1st fight but
won the 2nd vs. winnie codilla. 3rd fight was against former cong. and mayor locsin but
was not fought anymore. thought this roosters were bought by the mayor of isabel coz
haydol just delivered the roosters at the cockpit. after turning them over to archie, mayor
fuentes' son & after some hours of chicken talk with us he left the cockpit already for some
chores.
