Unang-una, Welcome sa munting tambayan ng EVGBA at salamat sa pagdaan. Re-start ng derby, usually ang makalagay sa invitation, 3 PM which pratically starts at 5PM. On some cases, maka start tayo ng maaga-aga as per program, ang kadalasan kasing nangyari in the past, kompleto na sana ang working crew, runners, etc. pero dito tayo may weakness sa participants' side, example Fight No. 1 both entries are around already pero ang financer or owner sa kabila ay wala pa, mga tao lang ang nasa cockhouse so hindi mapilit ng runner na drop na. Sasabihin naman nating OK Fight No. 2, etc. sasabihin naman, bakit kami mauuna eh wala pa ang Fight No.1? These are the usual reasons kung bakit tayo madedelay at hindi talaga masusunod kung ano ang nakalgay sa invitation. What we can say, we will try our best na masusunod kung ano ang nasa invitation card. At para hindi tayo maiinip during the derby day, punta muna tayo sa EVGBA Lounge lahat ay Welcome lalo na sa mga bisita. Balik tayo sa katanongan mo, we will try to start at 3PM, kung masyado namang marami ang entries, eh mas maaga mas maigi para hindi tayo aabotin ng almusalan the next day. Salamat sangkay.

In 1998, in pinas, the humaniacs got their stealthy, Animal Welfare Act (AWA) enacted.

In June 2007, they were able to convince Iloilo elected officials to stab us pinas sabongeros in the back, in the heart of candelaria derby sabong country.

It appears that the humaniacs’ plan is to go from town to town, cities to cities, and provinces to provinces to enact more exact replicas of their humaniacs law, and most importantly, get more and more members, supporters, donations, and money in the process. When and if the humaniacs come in your areas, for any humaniacs law for the so-called protection of any animal, just ask your elected and public officials to include the language that: "THIS LAW OR PROVISION DOES NOT APPLY TO COCKFIGHTING".

Because it has been 9 years since the pinas humaniacs’ law was enacted, the argument goes that it would never happen in pinas, Please don’t be fooled, the humaniacs are patient and persistent, and they would keep trying to kill pinas sabong.

Doing nothing is not and would never be an option. With the Lord our God’s help, we wont quit until we attained our goals. First, the enactment of a proactive, pinas sabong law. Second, and the long shot, the ultimate goal, to include our inalienable sabong right in the bill of rights in our pinas constitution. Then, and only then, could we argue that killing sabong would never happen in pinas.

So, notwithstanding the nay sayers, please kindly be patient with our baby steps, we need your help and support to protect and preserve pinas sabong for us and for future pinoy generations, and at the same time, to stop the humaniacs‘ goal to kill pinas cockfighting. This is a grassroots effort--everybody could help: email, mail, fax, text, or contact your pinas senators and congressman or their families, relatives, or friends for help and support in the enactment of our proactive, pinas sabong law. supercat trip the earliest from ormoc to cebu is 615 AM and it takes 2 hours travel time..
if u were to catch a flight or someone at mactan airport by 730 AM, i would suggest
to take the 12midnight boat from ormoc to cebu and by 5AM naa naka CEBU

Sangkay Extremes,
Are you canceling your plan of selling T-shirts. We already assumed that you are also that's why we are doing it in "ORDER MUNA" scheme. Actually, the idea of selling T-shirts by EVGBA just came in yesterday as e-mailed to us by Doc Sonny. Re-design, I think those are all and I think there is one frame that shows all the available designs. For the cost, Doc Sonny will come up later, what is known to us now is the 3x3 Ex-Cebu(take note there are also coming from Manila of this item of which we still don't know how much)which is 4H+ ea. excluding freight. We will finalize everything with Doc Sonny for the cost of all the items, ex-Manila. Then we will post.

There are two fast crafts operating now Cebu - Ormoc and vice versa, aside from Supercat, there is Weesam express. The latter is always 1 hour+ ahead of any Supercat Trip. For example the 1st Supercat trip Ormoc - Cebu is 8:45 AM theirs on the other hand is, 7:30 AM. The duration of the trip now is NO LONGER 2 hours, rather 2 1/2 hours with either of the these two fast crafts. Obviously, you can not make it anymore by any of these if you want to be at the airport by 7:30 AM. In this case, Sangkay Extremes's suggestion is the right thing to do. Yes, there is a fast craft Cebu to Surigao and vice versa but I am not sure which one, Supercat or the other 2 fast craft companies? Sorry, I am in the jobsite it could have been easy if I am in Cebu, the information will be very quick.

Safe to say, mas maganda talagang maglaban ng stags sa EVGBA Stag fest. Some of our comrades even planned to withdraw their entries, pero pakisamahan na lang ang nangyari. 3 MORE DAYS TO GO BEFORE SHOWDOWN

STAG DERBY RULES: as previously posted by Doc Joey and the same guidelines distributed together with the invitation cards:

1.) ACCEPTED STAGS

1.) Only stags banded by the EASTERN VISAYAS GAMEFOWL BREEDERS ASSOCIATION INC. (EVGBA) and stags banded by NFGB affiliated associations are accepted. NO SCREENING OF UNBANDED STAGS WILL BE CONDUCTED.

NOTE:
Entries using non-EVGBA banded stags are required to make an appointment with the EVGBA banding committee for re-screening and leg banding prior to the submission of weights.
Re-screening of non-EVGBA banded stags will use the following criteria:

1.a Possessing intact 7-7 primary wing feathers on both wings.

1.b Uncut and untampered spurs.

1.c Must possess the general appearance of a stag.

1.d must be accompanied by the original stag registry form of the origin association or the Xerox copy of the stag registry form certified true copy from the original by the president of the association or by any authorized representative.

2.) RESCREENING AND LEGBANDING

Re-screening and leg banding will be conducted on fight day, from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Late comers will be meted a fine of Php 500.00 per entry regardless of reason. NO STAGS WILL BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE THE COCKPIT PREMISES AFTER RESCREENING AND LEGBANDING.

3.) MATCHING

Give and take is 20 grams for stags weighing 1.900 kgs. and below

Give and take is 30 grams for stags weighing above 1.900 kgs.

Weight allowance : 35 grams (max.)

Definition of terms:

Give and take - the declared maximum allowable weight difference between matched stags. it is a condition wherein an entry , either takes the weight advantage or gives the weight advantage to his opponent.

Weight allowance - the maximum allowable weight increase above the registered weight of a particular stag on reweigh without knife.

Bad weight - a condition wherein a particular stag increases its weight beyond the maximum weight allowance on reweigh without knife.

HABOL SYSTEM NOT APPLICABLE

4.) BAD WEIGHT (FINES)

5 GRAMS - Php 500.00

10 GRAMS - Php 1,000.00

15 GRAMS - Php 2,000.00

Beyond 15 GRAMS bad weight, the entry is required to change stag plus the maximum penalty.

Replacement stag must conform to the weight limits.

5.) ACCEPTED WEIGHTS 1.700 TO 2.200 KGS.

6.) SUBMISSION OF WEIGHTS WILL BE FROM 7:00 A.M. TO 8:00 P.M. , A DAY BEFORE THE DERBY

7.) START OF DERBY

50 fights or lesser - derby strictly starts at 4:00 p.m.

51 to 75 fights - derby strictly starts at 2:00 p.m.

More than 75 fights - derby strictly starts at 1:00 p.m.

8.) STAG IN BAD SHAPE (GROUNDS FOR DISCONTINUATION OF THE FIGHT)

A stag is considered to be in bad shape under the following conditions:

8.a Limping ("kingking")

8.a.1 1st time - The fight is rescheduled and the stag is compulsory reheeled after 7 fights.

8.a.2 2nd time - The fight is rescheduled and the stag is compulsory reheeled after 5 fights. The stags will be reheeled inside the arena for the last time. The stags shall be fought limping or not limping

8.b Showing signs of refusing to fight or signs of refusing to show.

8.c Refusing to fight.

8.d Showing signs of intoxication or the presence of illness.

8.e Stag is wounded accidentally before or upon release prior to the engagement of both stags. However, if both stags engaged each other on a single pass, the fight shall continue until a winner is declared.

8.f Stag refuses to fight after release. However, if the stags engaged each other in a single pass and one quits, the carreo shall push through wounded or not wounded.

A committee will be created to determine the validity of the signs exhibited by the particular stag.

Under conditions 8.b 8.c 8.d 8.e and 8.f , an entry is entitled to change stag of the same weight or within the allowable weight limits after a decision is made by the committee. The fight is rescheduled after 5 fights. In case there is failure to come up with a replacement stag, EVGBA will provide the replacement stag after (2) hours grace period.

9.) NO FIGHT REQUESTS

Requests should be limited to a maximum of three (3) owners. Identity of the owners shall be based strictly on the registered owner of the wing bands. Only the registered owners of the wing bands will be considered in the no fight request.

At the moment, ang bakbakan stag derby pa ang mayroong DVD coverage pero puwede rin ipa DVD cover ang 4-stag. Sa una nating coverage, pinadaan natin kasi ng mga pledges which you were one of the them, this time, kon maganda ang turnout sa ating 3-stag, I think we have to lalo na kung hindi na tayo maghold ng clean-up derby. Sa Thursday sangkay, we will hold a meeting and rest assured that this will be one of the topics, pero sa 4-stag na ha kasi medyo gipit na tayo sa pag-arrange kung itong sa 3-stag. Last NFGB auction in the Philippine Poultry Show, I was able to purchase a pair of gold which was donated by your association. Though, it was not clear who the breeder was because in the paper there were two breeders, winnie codilla and bernie tacoy. Are they partners?

Could anyone help me with the background of these golds? How they look like? How they fight? Where to cross? etc. . .

The broodstag I got was a 3/4 gold 1/4 kelso, I dont know about the pullet because they have different markings. The broodstag is straight comb yellow legs and the pullet is peacomb yellow legs. They both look very good and the stag sparred superbly! I think I am very fortunate that I was the only "gold-lover" in that auction. . .:)

Does Mr. Codilla or Mr. Tacoy sells his chickens? Can I get their contact number (whoever bred the stag I purchased)? I am planning to buy additional stocks for this breeding season. . .

the BEST performance of their lives. fighting against the best of the best of EVGBA....
they muscled, they cut, and showed their power around. gunning for a clean 6win
sweep, the last stag was waylaid by bai ramon conopio's , phantom saber entry who was
just too fast, too sharp. anyways, the amazing thing about the 5 stags that won is that
4 of them can still be shown (mabybe sa evgba bullstag derby) with the other stag...

Well, everybody was complaining about William kay daghang arti sa pagkuyme, the only reason why he was relieved from officiating our derbies. Back from Talisay Sports Complex, misayo ko ug uli kay wala pa maulii ako kakapoy sa way tug sa EVGBA 3-stag derby, no complaindo amigo, tanan walay tulog aheheeh

Let me start with Bai Bernie's 2 entries in the CVBA stag derby today. Ang 1st fight sa usa ka entry mora ug continuation ija malas sa EVGBA, his stag showed a well-conditioned warrior pero mikalit lang kaawop pagka-ig-i ug ka-1. Ang 1st hinuon sa ijang BGT Gold entry, guwapo ug kaduwa kay daug man hex3;) So far, the best performer that I have seen was the fight of Ronking's Gamefarm, COMPLETE jud taas-ubos-ilag-cut Wowowee nga manok.

Scores of entries known to me when I left:
1. ANDA SIS ARGAO(entry of used to be bai RB Sugbo's partner) = 2 wala pa ang 3rd fight
2. BGT Gold = 1 wala pa ang 2nd fight
3. EPL Gamefarm 1(Bebot Monsanto, the handler is ex-bai Chiboy's) = 2 wala pa ang 3rd fight
4. EPL Gamefarm 2 also 2 points wala pa ang 3rd fight
3. Sierra Gamefarm 1( bai Victor Sierra) = 1 wala pa ang 2nd fight
4. Sierra Gamefarm 2 same
5. Sierra Gamefarm 3 same
6. Ronking's Gamefarm = 1 point wala pa ang 2nd fight
7. Ken and Kyle entry of Dr. Du =2 points wala ang 3rd fight

Now for the post observations of our 3-stag derby:
1. I arrived at 5:30 AM same time with bai Shane. We were the only EVGBA members around. The re-screening which was supposed to start at 6AM as per guidelines was not materialized as it started around 10 AM and with bai Mark alone in the screening room, I felt alarm of the situation so I jumped in to give a hand. Bai Mark did his best at ang tutoo nyan my entry Molave ECA EVGBA was one of those questioned along with bai Winnie Codilla's one entry, Paranas Farm and I think 2 others which I can not remember the names. Our screener received a call from bai Winnie which he passed his cellphone to me and just when I said hello, I heard his fuming mad voice complaining this and that. Well, I explained that the screener just did his job, being his stags were all CVBA banded. EVGBA banded were even questioned how much more for the other associations. VERY GOOD JOB Bai MARK for the rating of 10, I give you a perfect score of 10.
2. Due to item #1, our planned lunch with bai Rebel, bai Piranha, bai Ben C, Mang Johnny, et al was a failure, hindi talaga maiwanan si bai Mark alone, nanghingi na nga ng sandwich para LUNCH na lang daw. So, sorry to bai Bernie for his invitation to have the lunch at his residence instead of Leni's because it was a coincidence that it’s his and child's brithday. belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY bai Bernie. Actually, yours truly wala juy lunch and nadamay ang dinner kay we had a very nice atmosphere with bai Piranha and Bai Ben C earlier at the canteen then later at the EVGBA Lounge ang Ice Cold beer na lang ang ako panihapon aheheeh:)

5. We were supposed to start the derby only to find out that we did not have RUBBING ALCOHOL and the WIPER COTTON. This is one of the lessons learned(confidence should I say kay this is not the 1st time we held a derby),
6. The putting of wrist bands ang tawag nuon? sa handlers and gaffer was not done until the time THAT WE SUPPOSED TO START THE DERBY. Obviously, this caused a delay because we could have done it while re-screening until yours truly motioned out that derby should be started as it was past 4 pm already, we promised 3 PM and the putting of wristbands can be continued and those early fight entries can go ahead and the putting of their wrist bands can be done later for the people concerned. I am sorry for this decision BUT a decision has to be made GOOD or BAD anyway, this was not clear to them also whether what were their limitations going to ringside or anywhere??? This will be one of the topics during the next meeting and IF THIS NOT SO SIGNIFICANT, we will eliminate this TOO MUCH CEREMONIES????
7. LUNCH...LUNCH...LUNCH = if we really want to have this materialized, WE SHOULD ASSIGN ONE PERSON with no other duty except to ORGANIZE everything so this matter will be a reality.

AGAIN, CONTRATULATIONS TO ALL THE CHAMPION and INSURANCE entries. Bai Jigs Caday's highflying bakiki with a corresponding fatal blow impressed me very much same as sangkay Koyem's warriors, Mang Johnny’s very friendly gesture for his every win . And in the morning, everybody should have seen Doc Joey's triumphant JUMP when his Winjet entry won for its championship fight...Hurray everybody...Hurray EVGBA....looking forward to see more new faces during the main stag derby.

GENERALLY, it was another successful derby, the fight sequence was very smooth, thanks for the very professional job of our runners along with the official re-weigher. Good day ninyo tanan apil na pasaka sa thread. It was another successful derby for EVGBA last Sept 15, 2007. Kudos to the stag committee for their effort. This time I was there to watch and fielded 2 entries with Shane Leonard. Our team manages to score 2.5 and 2 wins losing on the championship fight vs Bernie Tacoy.

Ge invite pa mi ni Bernie for lunch sa ilaha kay birthday sa iyang anak. Pagkahuman ug kaon niabot ang iyang handler ug gihatag ang programa only to find out siya ang amoa kontra sa 1st fight ug last fight sa Rebellious Shanebo entry. Nagkatawa na lang mi ni Shane ug Bernie. Now I see why Bernie is winning most of his fights. Nindot ang iyang farm ug kumpleto facilities with good bloodline.

Just arrived from Talisay Sports and Recreational Complex, another display of CVBA stags fighting it out. Last Tuesday there were 103 entries, today there are 42 entries. The rest will be fielding the remaining stags for the 7-stag main CVBA derby.

My full salute to EVGBA member Rhodas Farm from Calbiga, Samar, scoring 2 1/2 points tonight. More power guys for the main 7-stag.

hospital at tacloban city. he suffered a heart attack and is now comatose. bai dixie

is requesting our fervent prayers for God's mercy and grace for the recovery of his

papa.

our derby and he seems so strong and full of energy.

Finally, re-Valencia 4-stag derby CONGRATS to bai Monching and bai Edwin, also to my orig idol tatay Lope. Ang akoang D' EVGBA entry managed to only get 2 Wins and 2 Losses good enough for a legitimate stag against ???? Just imagine on the 1st day, my 1st fight Won so tudo the winning + the puhunan for the 2 stags = the 2nd fight Lost so medyo suma total Talo pero due to very obvious mga tandi nga tagilid sa laban, I always bet on which stag ang ma-llamado obviously iyon ang medyo matatanda na, in short nabawi ko pa puhunan ko nanalo pa kaunti lang naman mga 4T. Pero sa 2nd day dahil may meeting tayo in preparation to the 4-stag derby, nag-iwan na ako ng pamusta sa handler ko sa final 2 fights at the same time nagpadala ako nga bakas sa kumpare ko sa trabisiya. So the meeting went on, nailaban na ang 1st fight ko for the final day and it lost. When the meeting was finished and I arrived Valencia, my kumpare already lost 120T and of course natangay ang pinadala ko hu hu hu. Pero this kumpare of mine has the history of always winning on the trabisiya so I let him do the choosing individual na lang ang sugal namin pero saka lang ako pupusta kung mayroon na siya choice hindi na iyong kung alin ang mas ma-edad ang pinupustahan pero may regla siyang sinusunod. Win - Win - Lose - Lose at the time went on. Muntik na akong makarecover pero pumasok ang BGT Gold against Governor Mercado. Breeder of the Year Award = as outlined, the award will be based on points system Example for the 3- Stag Derby, the champion entry gets 3 points + .5 while for the 4-Stag Derby, the champion gets 4 points + 1 for a total points of 8.5 assuming there will be no more clean-up derby. The same entry name and the same owner must be the basis for this award

2. Starting next year, we will hire a secretary on a case-to-case basis with office at Serafica and Sons Building next to the VP's office. The salary will be discussed later

3. For this 4-Stag derby, a specified job description will be assigned on all the officers and members

4. Invitational Derby = Obviously, we can not entertain the forthcoming 6-CK derby promoted by Governor Mian Mercado due to lacking resources and time however, we will send an entry for the 3-stag derby in Naval, Biliran Province promoted by Raffy Martines, bai Mark will take charge of this.

5. Entry Disqualification = The screener has the authority to disqualify any entry on the spot if the same entry owner as the last 3-stag will have the same discrepancy on any of his stags.

6. Wrist Bands = The putting of wristbands will be done at the same time with the re-screening. Doc Sonny and bai Bebot will take charge

7. Maximum Bet = Before the derby starts, there will be an orientation for both the masyadors so that the maximum bet of 11,000 will be strictly imposed and will save us time for each fight to commence. Bai Ramon will remind all the entry owners that the derby is more on camaraderie NOT ON MONEY MAKING so if any entry owner wishes to declare a bet of beyond 11,000 pesos, he will still be entertained but he should be aware that his registered bet of say 55,000 pesos can be on even-bet situation depending on his opponent entry.

8. POLICE are not allowed to have anybody enter the ringside or general admission for FREE.

9. Another meeting will be done by September 27, 2007 discussing the CHECKLIST to be done by the President and other items that need equal concern.

- some members from members from Samar were discontented for the lacking VIP treatment during the derby. NOTE: We tried out best and bai Mark Ferry was on top of the situation but during the real action(the derby itself), everybdoy was occupied so our visitors felt neglected??? Remedial Action: We will create a committee just to attend to all our visitors but on the other hand, if everybody feel he is already part of the family why wait being entertained? Why not go to the already designated EVGBA LOUNGE the proper place to meet all members and introduce yourself?. One pig lechon was ready the whole night, dinugoan, cold soft drinks and SMBs and Doc Sonny was there overnight to receive everybody, you might come there just to bite the very crispy lechon skin and drink the very ice cold SMs OR buy one, two or anything of his wide array of sabong paraphernalias same, YOU ARE supposedly well-welcomed. Anyway, we will always try to DO BETTER NEXT TIME and sorry for any misconception. We will REMAIN as ONE EVGBA FAMILY.

CN2000625186 as a Non-Stock and Non-Profit association under the laws of the Republic of the Philippines with 4 main purposes:
1. To promote cockfighting as a sport in the region.
2. To develop Camaraderie among breeders and cockers in the region
3. To help fellow cockers/breeders in the technical aspect of the industry resulting in raising high quality game fowls
4. To launch humanitarian projects commensurate to available fund

There were 6 Trustees listed:

OK lang but we really missed you during the 4-stag main especially if you saw bai Shane with his elbow on a cast still appearing for his stags fighting, what a blood of a sabongero? All done and jobs still to be done, it seems that we are always caught in this cycle of events. Hopefully our working crew still have that stamina to cope up with all the activities. Here we are preparing for the bakbakan stag derby. We still hope to see you around.

Once upon a time in a village, a man appeared who announced to the villagers that he would buy monkeys for $10 each. The villagers, seeing
that there were many monkeys in the forest, went out and started catching
them

The man bought thousands at $10 each. As supply started to diminish and
villagers started to stop their efforts, he announced that now he would buy
them at $20 each.

This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys
again. Soon, the supply diminished even further and people started going
back to their farms.

The offer rate was increased to $25 each and the supply of monkeys became
so scarce that it was an effort to even see a monkey, let alone catch it.

The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at $50 each. However, since
he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant would now buy
on behalf of the man.

In the absence of the man, the assistant told the villagers, "Look at all
the monkeys in the big cage that the man has collected. I will sell them
to you at $35 each and when my boss comes back, you can sell them to him
for $50 each."

The villagers queued up with all their savings and bought all the monkeys.

After that, neither the assistant nor the businessman could be found anywhere
but the monkeys were everywhere!
