1. WINGBANDING OF STAGS FOR 2008 STAGFEST
- Date: March 1 - April 15, 2008
- There will be again 5 clusters Samar, Biliran, Tacloban, Ormoc (and the neighboring towns), Southern Leyte
- Stag registry forms = no problem we still have enough
- Flyers = Doc Joey will produce the same for the said event
- Volunteers = we are seeking equally dedicated members to join the original banding team

2. SPONSORS
- there will be no exclusive sponsors this time due to the line of business that a corresponding sponsor is giving us. In this case, we will have more flexibility.
- Responsible person to contact = Mr. Cholo Franco

3. BULLSTAG DERBY
- we will hold a 3-bullstag derby on March 15, 2008, 3,300 php pot money, 120,000.00 php or more guaranteed prize money, minimum bet 1, 100 php, maximum bet 11,000.00 php
- Only banded bull stags will be accepted (more details will be reflected in the invitation card)

4. ANNIVERSARY DERBY
- there will be a 5-cock Anniversary Derby, April 25-26, 2008, 5,500 php pot money, 300,000.00 or more guaranteed prize money, minimum bet 1,100.00 php, maximum bet 11,000.00 php

5. COCKPIT RENTAL
- Mr. Cholo Franco will try to negotiate with the Nadongholan Cockpit management if we can rent it being our HOMECOURT on a 3-yr. renewable contract
- If this can be materialized, Mr. Mark Ferry volunteered to manage all the activities aside from the scheduled derbies.

- 3-stag on Oct. 11, 2008, 3,300.00 php pot money, 150,000.00 php or more guaranteed prize money

7. EVGBA BREEDER OF YEAR
- Most number of points earned by the same name of entry and entry owner during the stag circuit

8. EVGBA COCKER OF THE YEAR
- Most number of points earned by the same name of entry and entry owner for the whole year (bull stag derby, cock derby and stag circuit)

9. BONAFIDE MEMBERS UPDATE
- The president and the vice-president will work it out to post all the bonafide members and a plastic laminated ID with picture will be issued to each and every member.

10. GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETING JANUARY 5, 2008
- Election of the new set officers
- get together affair

bai ben, we will look closely at fight no.9. sa walai pabor2X maybe human error or

error in judgement ang nahitabo didto sa fight. am sure there was no playing favorites

sa mga fights nato. what happened there was the official nfgb referee coming from

TSC Cebu mistakenly took the fast ferry for bohol instead of cebu. that is why we have

to make do with our own evgba referee. Still, we will look into this fight closely and rest

assured we are open to positive criticisms, corrections, and we will do our best to always

hold an honest and fair derby. our derby motto....there is always plenty of room for

improvement.

goals/objectives and activities for the incoming year. The key officers will do the

implementation by creating committees to insure that our goals/objectives and

activities are carried out without much problem.

GOOD DAY EVGBANs and VISITORS/FRIENDS, today is the last day for 2007 so areglar na tayo sa ating mga FENG SHUI para sa 2008 and mind everybody one of the requirements, PAY ALL YOUR DEBTS TODAY reklamo ako kumander ani nga requirement:);):) anyway WISH FOR THE SUCCESS IN OUR LIVES FOR THE COMING YEAR.

COPY BAI CHOLO, WE WILL START THE MEETING AS REQUESTED. As the incumbent president of EVGBA, may I render this parting words for 2007. I foresee a delay in the procedure if we will hold our officers election conventionally so I have this proposal IF EVERYBODY AGREES.

Much that Sangkay Piranha is asking for some nominees: I nominate bai Cholo Franco or Doc Sonny Alfaro as the next President of EVGBA. Needless to say about the background of these two gentlemen as sure they can more than ably lead the group in the right direction as per EVGBA's objectives. These are my proposals:
1. If bai Cholo will be our president, we will appoint a Vice President for each area of our concern.
- For Samar Area, we will appoint Doc Ed Baena as the Vice President for Samar.
- Then for Biliran Area, we will appoint a guy as per Bai Ben Comeo's recommendation.
- For Southern Leyte Area, we will appoint a guy to be recommended by bai Donato
- No Vice President for main Leyte operation(Western,Eastern,Northern)

All the 3 Vice Presidents will conduct and oversee all EVGBA activities like wing banding and derbies in their respective areas in coordination with the President. All the 3 VPs will attend EACH compulsory meeting with the President and the Board with expenses under EVGBA's budget.

2. If Doc Sonny will be the president I will move to his post as Board of Director(of course subject to votation if we conduct it the conventional way) and the same structure as Item 1.

Thanks bai Cholo but I am not presenting myself as one of the NOMINEES for the presidency. This doesn't mean that I don't want to lead our group anymore BUT let's give the essence of our Gen. Assembly Meeting that one of the purposes, is to hold an election IF my proposals can not be granted by the majority. I don't want to cite my views but time is MAYBE enough to change the OFFICERS as per the SEC policy. In my personal opinion, you don't need to be in the board but to be the next LEADER of the group. Further, there is no need for a complete revamp as we know at the moment, there are lesser members QUALIFIED and AVAILABLE for the position. ACTUALLY, there are promising qualified members out there but are not available or just prefer to stay as members and not officers and in this regard, PLEASE COME TO THE OPEN and ADD MORE STRENGTH to our group. It was also nice to see through it hurdled the test of time, survived the many hardship of organizing and have shown the warm kamaraderie and friendship that we have shared the past several years. However, I have several offers with me now that I am still pondering and thinking which of them I will accept, and for these, I might again be joining the mindbreaking corporate world. If this happen, then my time and motion might again be confined within the room of the CEO. Thanks for the offer Bai Ed, I appreciate it very much, but for reasons stated above, I may not have the time to manage the affairs of EVGBA. 4. Financial Statement - by Cholo Franco and Doc Sonny Alfaro. To date, we have a total of Two Hundred Eighty Eight Thousand - Four Hundred Seventy Six(288,476.78) pesos and seventy eight centavos CASH-ON-HAND that is now in EVGBA's PNB Account.

5. Outstanding concern from the main 2007 sponsor, Thunderbird - bai Gino Salonga brought the topic on un-labeled Trophies during the 2007 Stagfest. He pointed out that a specific trophy must be marked CHAMPION, BREEDER OF THE YEAR or whatever it is representing for? = bai Cholo Franco will follow-up this matter with Thunderbird

6. Honorarium/Conditioning Equipment - bai Gino Salonga brought the matter that being a non-profit, non-sectarian organization, we must take measures on providing conditioning equipment to the members like weighing scales for FREE and honorariums as the case maybe. We will look into these once we can achieve a stable amount for our operating cost.

7. Patronage Refunds - Doc Sonny will attend the NFGB Gen. Membership meeting on January 12 at the same time will receive in the name of EVGBA the following PRs:
- 26,500.00 Php representing the associations patronage refund
- 2,136.00 Php patronage refund for each entry. An entry from the other association will get the p.r. also from EVGBA

8. Banding Committee Workshop - NFGB will conduct this workshop in Manila by March 2008 and EVGBA will send a participant.

9. Discussion of 2008 Activities - everything is as as per November 19, 2007 minutes of the meeting EXCEPT the 3-Bull stag Derby on March 15, 2008. The PRIZE MONEY to be put in the invitation card and likewise will be explained to all the participants, it must be "WIN AS MUCH AS 120,000.00" instead of 120,000.00 or more guaranteed prize. Furthermore, the derby will go on irregardless of the number of total entries be it 20 or 30. This is so because at the moment, not too many banded bull stags might be available but the same is true, ANY 2007 EVGBA OR BAKBAKAN BANDED bull stag will be accepted.
- EVGBA BREEDER OF THE YEAR AWARD = a Trophy + 10,000.00 Php CASH PRIZE
- EVGBA COCKER OF THE YEAR AWARD = a Trophy + 5,000.00 Php CASH PRIZE
MEMBERS UPDATE = bai Bebot Flores will receive a special remuneration to help bai Cholo on this so we can start making our EVGBA Identification Card

10. Different Venue for the 3-Stag Derby 1st Leg of the EVGBA 2008 Stag fest – Sangkay Extremes brought the idea of holding the said derby in Jaro Coliseum, Tacloban City to generate more funds considering that, the Tacloban Area has the most number of paying patrons compared to the present home court, Nadongholan Cockpit, Ormoc City, this was backed-up by Doc Sonny Alfaro with reason as a showcase for EVGBA. Sangkay Tarantula will make the feasibility study in terms of the working committee and would be members-participants from the Tacloban Area and Samar and will submit to the board for approval.

It swallowed one hapless cockerel.
Our farm hands took care of the creature after a 2 hour drag fight.

I understand that it is now mortgaged to the max and down to less than 100 head. The vaccination schedule and worming I instituted and the expensive feeding is now history.

I would warn anyone that is considering buying from my ex in-laws, buy only for breeding purposes as the lack of worming and feed will not alter the genes and health and condition can be restored in a brodcock. Take care as my attitude was always to guarantee that if I sold a NeSmith Sweater it was exactly that; I can not say the same for the current operators. The fighting stock is most likely less than top quality, same for the broodhens.

I am hoping that they are no longer using the Ricefield Farm name as I intend to restart my breeding with fresh stock when my attornies finish the property division. The only good part of the law is that anything that has been liquidated must be repaid to me at 50% (my half)

I am optimistic about the final outcome and look forward to my return to Leyte. I am getting a lot of moral support from my friends in Hindang and the EVGBA members.

rice paddies, which he would usually inihaw. During dry season, we relied on the chickens, vegetables, bangus, tuyo, and tinapa. Every now and then, there was pork and beef from the town market. Life was so peaceful , so quiet, no electricity, no TV. Just the radio for Tia Dely, Roman Rapido, Tawag ng Tanghalan and Tang-tarang-tang. And who can forget Leila Benitez on Darigold Jamboree? On weekends, I played with my neighbours (who were all my cousins). Tumbang-preso, taguan, piko, luksong lubid, patintero, at iba pa. I don't know about you, but I miss those days.

Philippines used to be the exporter of any agriculture products but now it's different. We imports because not much land (farms) they can cultivate due to private sectors who focused on developing houses, buildings, supermarkets, mall and others. What happened now? What's the government doing? Checking their own pocket, their own personal interest and pork barrels. Wow!
Until 1972,like President Macapagal, President Marcos was one of the most admired presidents of the world. The Peso had kept its value of P 7 t o the $dollar until I finished college . Today, the Philippines is famous as the 'housemaid' capital of the world. It ranks very high as the 'cheapest labor' capital of
the world, too. We have maids in Hong Kong , laborers in Saudi Arabia , dancers in Japan ,migrants and TNTs in Australia and the US , and all sorts of other 'tricky' jobs in other parts of the globe. The National 8- Bullstag Derby with the situationer, IF THE TOTAL NUMBER OF ENTRIES CAN NOT REACH 20, then the interested member-participant/s can go to Cebu for the 4- Bull stag elimination round on April 29, May 2 or 3, 2008, BUT IF during our 5-CK anniversary derby, if the total number of entries for Bullstag Category can reach 20, THEN WE WILL HOLD THE 4-BULLSTAG ELIMS in Ormoc City together with our ANNIVERSARY 5-CK Derby on April 25 - 26 so you don't need to go to Cebu for the 4- Bullstag Elimination round.

MORE NFGB ISSUES DURING THE LAST MEETING:
A.) NFGB will hold a Seminar and Certification Program for all working committee members to be scheduled as follows:
Luzon Assns. - Feb. 2, 2008 - Clark
Visayas Assns. - Feb. 9, 2008 - Bohol
Mindanao Assns - Feb. 16, 2008 - Zamboanga

Each local member association will send two (2) of their best qualified working
committee member with a proven track of integrity, perseverance, experience
related to banding and screening, and must be flexible. Participants must have
the following qualification:

1. No more than 55 years of age;
2. High School graduate;
3. 1 year banding and screening experience;
4. Very mobile and in excellent health condition.

It is a must that the Assn. President or his duly authorized representative, accompany the
participants. They should arrive at the venue a day before the scheduled activity. The
expenses of all participants (3 each assn.) will be shouldered by NFGB.

- All expenses related to working committee representatives assigned to observe
and monitor local association eliminations and semis, will be charged to the local
host association promoting the event starting 2008.

B.) Wingband allocation for each association will again be based on the number of 2007 Bakbakan entries x 100 bands plus 20% as allowance for new members.
- No entry, No banding for members last year.
- New members will be allocated a maximum of 75 bands only.
- Maximum bands per breeder = 300 bands for 3 or more entries last year.
Note: If lacking, the assn can request NFGB for add’l wingbands.

yesterday, excellence guys visited me and we talked about our activities this year.

john dela cruz, their technical supervisor in the visayas promised to help us the usual

best way they can. they committed to do our invitations, give out handsome trophies

for our champs and try to arrange a gamefowl seminar before our anniversary.

they will try to arrange for a known breeder from negros to speak during the seminar

and hopefully have some trios for raffle to seminar participants.

- Stag registry forms = no problem we still have enough
- Flyers = Doc Joey will produce the same for the said event
- Volunteers = we are seeking equally dedicated members to join the original banding team
- FOR THE INFORMATION OF ALL MEMBERS WHO WANT THEIR COCKERELS TO BE BANDED BY EVGBA FOR THE 2008 STAG FEST. a 50% of the main stag derby pot money down payment is going to be imposed for those who did not participate in 2007 stag fest. This is to preclude the same situation during the last year that a member had his cockerels banded but did not participate in any of the two(2) stag derbies held WASTING time and effort of the banding team in going to his farm and of course the cost of the wing bands. Please be guided accordingly.
- Doc Joey Cortes is requesting another type of wing band and applicator to make it more tamper-free. Doc Sonny Alfaro will look into this.
- Deadline for the acquisition of wing bands is February = Responsible persons Doc Sonny Alfaro and Cholo Franco

b) All expenses related to working committee representatives assigned to observe and monitor local association eliminations and semis, will be charged to the local host association promoting the event starting 2008.

Working Committee:
a) Seminar and Certification Program for all working committee members
to be scheduled as follows:
Luzon Assns. - Feb. 2, 2008 - Clark
Visayas Assns. - Feb. 9, 2008 - Bohol
Mindanao Assns - Feb. 16, 2008 - Zamboanga

Each local member association will send two (2) of their best qualified working committee members with a proven track of integrity, perseverance, experience related to banding and screening, and must be flexible. Participants must have the following qualifications:
• no more than 55 years of age;
• high school graduate;
• 1 year banding and screening experience;
• very mobile and in excellent health condition.

It is a must that the Assn. President or his duly authorized representative, accompany the participants. They should arrive at the venue a day before the scheduled activity. The expenses of all participants (3 each assn.) will be shouldered by NFGB.

b) All expenses related to working committee representatives assigned to observe and monitor local association eliminations and semis, will be charged to the local host association promoting the event starting 2008.

NOTE: For the above, we are sending Doc Joey Cortes and bai Mark Ferry to be accompanied by either bai Cholo or Doc Sonny Alfaro

12. 2008 PRESIDENTS' CUP DERBY = A 5-Stag or Bull stag or Cock Derby will be held in the Araneta Coliseum on the 1st Week of December 2008. All the other details will be announced later. Each member association IS REQUIRED to field a minimum of 2 entries. Guys please take note.
