Good Noon!, Much that we want to cover all the members' farms particularly the Samar cluster during the recent bakbakan 6-day banding period that will end up today, this is what transpired after a series of text messages between me and bai Cholo plus my follow-ups with Sangkay Patrick. Now, I fully understand the real situation:

ACTUALLY, I COULD HAVE POSTED THESE LAST NIGHT BUT JUST CAN NOT GET CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET:

In behalf of our association, the EVGBA, we deeply regret that your cockerels were not banded by the NFGB because of our error in the calculation of the number of days for the NFGB to band all cockerels in our area. Last year, we were only given three(3) days banding period by them and this year, we fought for double the number of days thinking that would be more than enough.

Unfortunately, our calculations missed the mark horribly. The number of farms not only doubled, but tripled. Plus the very bad road conditions and weather that limited the team to a certain extent.

We are really sorry, but if this will console you, members from other parts of Samar; Villareal for instance , were missed as well. Again, we seek your kind understanding on this matter. We certainly will miss your stags in the bakbakan but still trust your support.

Just want to share with you that PETA is all over condemning our beloved sabong sport.
My daughter, a junior medical student at UP Manila- PGH told me that the PETA group held a forum at their university.

As expected, my daughter stood out and proudly told everybody that her father breeds fightingcocks, then related the TLC I give to the chickens, and refuted the PETA that sabungeros are not brutal to chickens and are far different from what they perceived us to be. That it is but the animal instinct of chickens to fend for themselves when pitted during spar, just like all other animals.

I hope the kids of all our kasabongs are smart enough to stand out and defend our sport when PETA visits their campuses.

SC upholds RTC, CA decisions on cockfighting

COCKFIGHTING aficionados now have no choice but to indulge in their favorite “sport” only on Sundays, legal holidays and, during fiestas, up to three days.

This after the Supreme Court Second Division upheld the decision of the Court of Appeals (CA) that had also upheld the decision of the Regional Trial Court of Bohol limiting the occasions of holding cockfighting to such days only.

Gov. Erico Aumentado announced the Supreme Court decision Friday during his weekly radio program The Governor Reports aired live and simulcast over dyRD and dyTR in Tagbilaran City and dyZD in Ubay town and delayed broadcast over dyDL in Carmen town.

In a letter to the litigants and their lawyers dated January 23, 2008, Assistant Clerk of Court Ma. Luisa Laurea quoted the resolution of the High Tribunal dated December 5, 2007 in G.R. No. 176004.

Considering the allegations, issues and arguments adduced in the petition for review on certiorari, the Court resolves to deny the petition for failure to sufficiently show any reversible error in the assailed judgment to warrant the exercise of this Court’s discretionary appellate jurisdiction, she wrote.

The case stemmed from Aumentado’s issuance of Executive Order No. 2 strictly implementing Presidential Decree No. 449.

Having received complaints from parents and school authorities that their children or students skip classes to go to the cockpits in order to earn a few “quick bucks” as motorcycle watch boys – or even maciador or bet callers, he issued the order.

A certain Concepcion Ramo of Baclayon town had questioned the legality of the order, invoking the autonomy that the Local Government Code of 1991 gives to local government units (LGUs).

Provincial Legal Officer Handel Lagunay however clarified that in statutory construction, in case of “conflict of laws,” the national law prevails.

The “conflicting laws are harmonized,” hence the LGUs regulates cockfighting through business license, mayor’s permit and such other details as location of the cockpit that must follow local zoning ordinances.

Lagunay also said Supreme Court decisions form part of the law of the land, hence the decision on the Ramo vs. Aumentado case will hold true all across the nation.

She had a boyfriend named Noel. Both of them were true lovers. They always hung on the phone. You could never see her without her cell phone. Before she passed away she always told her friends 'If I pass away please bury me with my hand phone' she also said the same thing to her parents.

After her death, people couldn't carry her coffin, I was there. A lot of them tried to do so but still couldn't, everybody including me, had tried to carry the coffin, the result is still the same. Eventually, they called a Feng Shui Master. He took a stick and started speaking to himself slowly. After a few minutes, he said 'THIS GIRL MISSES SOMETHING HERE '. Then her friends told the Master about her intentions to bury her with her phone. He then opened the coffin and places her phone and SIM card inside the casket. After that they tried to carry the coffin. It could be moved and they carried it into the van easily. All of us were shocked. Tiffany's parents did not inform Noel that Tiffany had passed away.

After 2 weeks Noel called Tiffany's mom and said, 'I'm coming home today. Cook something nice for me. Don't tell Tiffany that I'm coming home today, I wanna surprise her.' Her mother replied... 'You come home first, I wanna tell you something ve ry important.' After he came, they told him the truth about Tiffany. Noel thought that they were playing a fool. grabeeeeee ang pagtubo sa evgba in terms of no. of members, and no. of cockerels

banded. sa evgba lang padulong na ta sa last box of wing bands. that means to say

we've reached the 3,000 plus cockerels banded. sa bakbakan pod, 2,600 cockerels

banded more or less !!! thats 3 times more than last years' no. of cockerels banded.

naa pa unta tai daghan mga members na gusto pa band but for lack of time (perme

man gadali ning mga taga nfgb) sorry jud kaayo sa mga wala mabandingi elahang

mga cockerels.


last monday, we (kap ramon, doc joey, bai mark, urs truly, doc claire (thunderbird rep)

had a meeting at big roy's resto. ang oban mga board of directors wala na mka attend

due to distance. agenda of our meeting is our coming 5cock anniv derby on the 25th

and 26th of this month. many issues were discussed, derby committees formed, identi-

fication and assignment of duties. hopefully , we could meet again this coming

saturday evening, with doc sonny and our presi bai ed already present.


friday, urs truly will fly to manila to represent the evgba at the nfgb officers' meeting.

meeting will be about the just concluded bakbakan banding. identification of problems

recommendations of local asso. officers, the bakabakan bullstag derby and other

matters.


tomorrow, its back to work, face-off with the agrarian reform ngo's, illegit farmer

beneficiaries, and the DAR people......problems...problems...problems...hehe, who

doesnt have one ???


BTW, for those entries (anniv derby) coming from out of ormoc city, our main man for

for cakhawz reservations is bai mark ferry 0917 721 3726 for submission of entries

and weights its doc joey cortes 0921 498 3003 please submit your weights not less than

a day before derby.

a brief update sa nfgb meeting namo sa manila. firstly, nalipay ang nfgb sa EVGBA

kai not only have we grown in no. of breeders banded, we have tripled in the no. of

of cockerels banded. 2ndly, proud kaayo ko sa evgba kai gpa kita didto tanan

komentaryo sa mga nagbanding sa mga local asso. all over p.i. and am very happy

to tell you that ang evgba got 4:4 ratings from the banding team from iloilo and

dumaguete. 4:4 means excellent ta sa accomodation and excellent pod ta sa prep-

aration, scheduling, advance info, and support sa banding team. 3 cheers to bai

patrick and our recorder ronilo pino. and finally, the nfgb reached their target for

this year of 180k plus cockerels banded. this means to say that we will expect a

minimum of 2,000 entries for this year, WHEW !!! ALSO, DURING THE MEETING,

A PROPOSAL TO REDUCE THE ENTRY FEE FROM P15K TO P11K WAS DISCUSSED

AMONG THE LOCAL ASSO. HEADS AND THE NFGB EXECOM TO ACCOMODATE MORE

SMALL TIME / BACKYARD BREEDERS !!! THE DOWNSIDE IS, ENTRANTS WILL NO

LONGER BE RECEIVING PATRONAGE REFUNDS FROM THE NFGB AND THAT ALL LOCAL

ASSO. WOULD HAVE TO SHOULDER THE EXPENSES (TRAVEL, BOARD AND LODGING)

OF NFGB REPS WHO WILL SUPERVISE THE ELIMS AND THE SEMIS. of course, the

local asso. heads were divided in this issue. pros/cons of this matter will again be

discussed and finalized during the next meeting as it took us nearly 2 hours discussing

on this matter. other issues were also discussed, but this issue has the most bearing

for our asso.

all systems go for the nfgb bullang bullang derby. and as of this date, out of 123

entries, 7 entries posted perfect 4 wins in the elims. when i left them, 4:30 pm, they

were still discussing other issues ...to band or not to band cockerels with ugba wingbands

again, the asso. heads were divided on this issue..i just hope the nfgb execom can

gather enough wisdom from king solomon to render out a decision that is just, fair,

and benefit most specially the breeders and the local asso. these are divisive issues

but i trust our seasoned execom to do the right thing and the local asso. to give full

support to their decision.

This is a learning lesson para sa next anniversary derby if will still be in the month of April, we better modifry the format to a 4-Cock Derby instead of 5. Early moulting is the common reason, sa area ko lang nawalan ako ng 2 pledged entries and it's a nightmare cramming for entries during the eleventh hour you see, late last night around 11PM nakakuha pa ako 1 entry nga for pot out of friendship na lang sa isa sa ating mga old buddies dito sa hometown ko in fact I was offering it to Doc Sonny but incidentally, walay reply hangtod nakatulog ko paabot sa ija text, then at 2 AM today, nakamata pud ko uy then pinagtiyagaan ko itong PC sa bahay na malabo ang screen ano kayang nangyari sa monitor na ito? Ang labo ng mga letters?

Truly because of the unpresindented raining in Samar & Leyte area for the past 4months, almost all of our cocks have faced an early moulding process. GOOD MORNING EVERYBODY!!! Just arrived from our elims but before my humble update, let me describe the scenario on how our 1st day was done. The other night around 11PM, with constant contact with our ever ready not to ge to sleep Doc Joey, I set up additional one entry to make the number of submitted entries into 33. This morning at 4AM I drove my 2 entries with the 3rd handler as he wanted to get the cocks in the cockpit before 5AM but when I came back direct to my farm, Doc J called me up that the number of entries remained at 33 and reckoned if I have some friends in town who have their cocks that can be used by the association. Without hesitation, I called up my 2nd handler to give 2 weights of the final day line-up, so that made the number to 34 bahala na ang finals kung sakali maka-2 points man ang 3 entries nitong 2nd handler na ito. Then went to a friend's house for breakfast but saw few of his fighting cocks in front of his residence. Then I jokingly told him I will use the same for the elims pero umangal na hindi puwede but instead called up his co-worker kahit 2 manok lang para sa elims so that's it, we went to his co-worker's backyard farm around 8 kms. from town with a weighing scale and that made up another entry, IN SHORT, naging 35 lahat. By the way, itong entry na ito got 0 - 0 score true to my handler's prediction may klase daw ang manok pero halatang kulang sa kahig:)

This was the scenario; When my two entries California Man financed by bai Paul and MAR-CON ESTATE financed by EVGBA both got 4 points, bai Cholo called me up for a negotiation as another EVGBA financed entry under his name BW Hillside all using cocks brought by our equally very supportive member Lito Tiu, ALSO got 4 points. You know already the very simple arrangement/agreement, negotiation, that any of the 3 entries that will make it to a score of perfect 5, the 3 said entries will equally divide the champion prize. Take note that 2 entries both financed by EVGBA so, to further help the association coop up with the needed financial assistance as obviously TAPAL jud ta for the lack of entries pero HEAVEN SENT ang 2 ka financed entries nga nakakuha ug 4 points and had the best opportunity to get the championship prize, without hesitation, I AGREED for the negotiation. So the story became SIMPLE, JUST LIKE OUR EVGBA ENTRY LAST TIME USING BAI IZLO's COCKS IN THE TALISAY PAMASKO DERBY. That entry was one of the champions UNDER THE SAME SCHEME, bai Izlo won the championship fight but the other entries entitled for the negotiation also emerged as CHAMPIONS. ED, I consider my ex Father-in-law "Tino" no more than a common thief. He knows full well that the farm and all the stock is mine but has so far sold more than 200,000 of my stock at extremely low prices and put the money in his pocket.

Any support or help that is given to him will be considered by me, a personal affront against me. Would you help a bank robber count the money?

In addition to these very basic facts you must know by the run down condition of the farm that the stock is not being well fed, vaccinated, wormed or treated with proper medication and vitamins. A prudent person would not consider purchasing anything at this time. You could potentially bring sickness from there to your own farm.

He is not a member of EVGBA, has never given any help or support to EVGBA; I on the other hand have supported the EVGBA, donated to the EVGBA, financed entries for the EVGBA, sold premium chickens to members at rock bottom prices even to the point of giving away imported stock to members. Now is not the time to slap my face. I hope you and all of the members will consider my position.

It may be a moot point anyway, I expect the farm to be padlocked by the sheriff within the month because of an injunction from my pending case against him and my ex-wife..
