update lang ko ninyo gamay sa atoa entry caf-evgba sa clean-up vsc 4stag derby. hapita jud nato majackpot-an ang 4-stag. wala pa jud gitugot, napilde ang atoa para champion na stag. ato 1st 3-fights polos sa mga dayo, no sweat. ang last fight,
lokal lang, balaw pa jud. ang probs lang, ang ato stag baby
armalite, ang kontra ang eyaha amahan na M-16, hehe. taas
ubos paboto sa atoa baby armalite, wala man bati-a sa M16.
bohi osa ka boto ang M16, paktay ato baby armalite, huhuhu.
sayanga mga abais ! ang consolation lang nako, all the stags
performed very well, polos pointed pag bohi sa ruweda. basta
parehas lang unta ang edad, fights jud atoa mga stags bisan
sa kontra sa mga dayo. 3 stags can still be used. and 2 naka-
cord na.

anyways, the good news is, i was approached at the cakhaws
by the sons of ex-mayor johnny aguilar of gandara, samar.
warren and vicee were so disappointed. they were fighting
legitimate stags against, you know.....M16s. they heard of our
association, and when they saw our entry caf-evgba fight, they
didnt miss the chance to follow me at the cakhaws. they expressed full support for our association and they will be
awaiting the membership forms to be shipped to them. he
promised also to bring along 4 legitimate breeders from their
area who are also supportive of our asso.
the next day, at the finals, again just after we won the 3rd fight,
the rep of arthur "boy" benitez, this time of pamboan, no. samar
followed me also to the cakhaws expressing the same
disappointments and then voiced their support also for our
association. boy benitez texted me today and sent his mailing
address para sa mga membership forms. 5 pod sila ka breeders
na willing to join our asso.
btw, both of these people run cockpits also in their places.
so there you go guys, 3 cockpit operators and breeders, eager
to join us and fight a TRUE, LEGITIMATE, stag derby.

ako idol, bai izlo, hehe. it really pays to be at the cakhaws to

1. have them dewormed
2. have them deloused
3. have them vaccinated for ncd n fowl pox
4. trim their vents
5. disinfect their breeding pens
6. flush them out of possible respiratory deseases
7. be sure no broodfowl is fat
8. give a shot of vit a,d,e every 15 days
9. give a shot of reliable b-complex vits twice a month
10. put vits w/electrolytes on water six (6) days/week
11. put grits on the ground
12. prepare your breeding records
13. disinfect and check the temp n humidity of your
incubators
14. single mate for brood material purposes
15. 1 broodcock is to 3 for battle purposes (preferably
sisters)
16. to induce laying, install a 20-w or 50-w bulb inside
the breeding pen. turn it on 5pm up to 9pm.
17. most imptly, most practical, breed only from the best
and proven lines in your yard. better to have 12 ace
stags than 50 mediocre, so-so, hope they get lucky
type of stags.

Tips in selecting A Superior Breeding hen

1. First and foremost is that she possesses a very good genotype as this will determine the general characteristics of the progency/offsprings.

2. She must possess good health and vitality. This is very important because these traits will provide her the strength to go through a long laying season and molt. If she lacks these, she is not constitutionally strong and will not got far as a breeder. this is one of the foundations of a good breeding program.

3. She posses vibrant personality similar to a go-go or a disco-dancer.

4. She must be free from debilitating endemic poultry diseases like pullorum, Marek's, Gumboro, Coryza, fatty liver syndrome, Anemia virus and etc.

5. Physically her body should be "football-shaped" and her abdomen soft, expanded, pliable and covered by a thin velvety skin.

6. She must possess a balanced stance and be able to stand on one foot and still not fall over.

7. She must carry her wings a little low which indicates strong back muscles. This enables her to withstand the constant mounting of the broodcock.

8. If possible she must be a "seed Fowl" coming from a good pedigree.

9. She should be at least 8-10 months old at the start and last up to 5-8 years, if possible.

10. Her pubic bones (sipit-sipitan) must be flexible, thin and well spread. She should be able to lay at least 60 eggs in one breeding season and large enough (45-65grams) to give a bigger chicks for a better survivability and easy for brooding.

TIMETABLE

1. Registration of the association with SEC - From: December 29, 2005 to January 23, 2006 - Responsible persons: Atty. Trimor, Doc Sonny, Bai Ryan, the Vice President and the President. The scenario will be; the papers must be duly signed by all the officers the last one to sign being away at the moment, is the President.This is straightforward manner Atty. Trimor - Doc Sonny- Bai Cholo - Bai Ryan will coordinate each other(I know they are doing it sorry to mention here again) and see to it that all the documents are ready, or I guess it's ready now. So, Doc Sonny will mail again our reservation papers. I will pay to the Union Bank accordingly and will appreciate if the docs(the reservation and the express forms) are already in my Cebu Address on or before Dec. 29.I will do the rest of the things as far as SEC is concerned.

2. CF Global Derby on January 24, 2006 - We are planning to field one EVGBA entry. Responsible persons: Bai Cholo, Bai Izlo, Myself, Bai Naval, Bai Tony, Bai BenC, Doc Sonny plus of course the other members who are willing to "kurambos" their well-tinaguan aces!

3. Valencia February Big Time Derby - Again we are planning to field another EVGBA entry. The same responsible persons as listed on Item 2 and the same criteria.

NOTE: For items 2 and 3 = the selection will be done in Bai Izlo's farm while enjoying the hospitality of the farm owner on January 3, 2006. For the CF Derby there is more possibility nga ang mga tinaguan ni bai Izlo ang magamit kay duol2 naman exceptional of course kon naay mapilian nga, will look like precon na.

If you show up around here with cocks that are too wet & you do not get the moisture out, you will go home with empty boxes.

Every time I turn around there is some one elce saying that good cocks always find a way to win. Well don't belive it. I have seen a lot of good cocks go down because they were too wet. They are slugish & can't take the cutting.

If they are dropping moisture the size of a pop can, you are better off leaving them for another day.

If you just can't stand just sitting and watching, there are a few things you can do. First it all depends on the humidity & tempature. If you are in a cock house that you can control the humidity & tempature, you should never have them too wet.

Anyways, if they are dropping the size of a pop can, you had better drop them out every 20 minutes. The sooner you get them dropping dime size the sooner they will become sharp. If you drop them once an hour, you may not get them sharp until the derby is half over.

Get you a little humidity- Temp gauge & keep it in your cock house. Take it to the pit as well. Where your cocks go, it goes. Randall Burkey has a digital one for some where around $30.00.
That is where I got my last one & it works fine. Don't go by the tempature & just gues because it will fool you. I have seen it be warm out & you would think, there is no way the humidity is high today but it is.

Now, if the humidity is high & your cocks are empty & are dropping the sise of that pop can, you will want to add a bit of feed, like LMIGHTY says. 4 pellets every hour will help suck the moisture out. Just make sure you drop them every 20 minutes until you get them where you want them.

If they are too wet & they are not quit empty yet, just drop them out every 20 minutes. I go by the humidity being 65%. if it is over that you better give them a bite of feed as well. If it is under just keep dropping them.

I will say this once again, pop can size moisture will cost you. If the humidity is above 65%, just leave them in the stalls.

With this in mind, there is really no way to read some thing like this & go out and start winning derbys. It takes common sence as well as experince. All situations are different but one thing stays the same & that is what they need to be sharp.

One more thing to rember is, like what was already said, hunger, rest & moisture. I will say that 99% of all game fowl, no matter what type, require the same moisture level to prefom at their peak. Some will require more rest that others. Some may even preform better emptyer that others but the moisture needs to be the same.

Know your fowl. It will help determin how much rest they can take with out going over. It is better to give them a little less rest that to give them to much.
