out of the total funds/shares from the evgba group and friends of P79,500.00 , we deducted the initial expenses
consisting of plane fare, hotel, transpo, food, cost of preparing the roosters, PAL cargo (6 roosters), entry fee.
amount left for center bets is P32,000.00. as agreed upon, the strategy was to divide the 32k into 2 and then if 1st fight wins, we place everthing to the 2nd rooster. unfortunately, for our 2nd fight, we were up against an entry whose parada is only minimum 5,5k. in short, only 33k was square of from our parada. thanks to bai izlo's engineering wizardry, he was able to quickly divide the 33k into 16k for evgba and the 17k for the boyz (izlo, shane, raul, doc, handlers and me). from the 1st day we managed to up our funds to P60k which we will divide again into 3 (final 3 roosters).
we all know that in the finals only the last rooster won, so that what was left was 38k. we won 5,8k (day money) but we likewise gave 60% of that to doc s., who owns the 2 roosters that won for that day and left us with 2,3k. that ups our total money to 40,3k.
again, there were some expenses that were overlooked by your vp-treas (hehe, wala ma-anad budgeting). doc s., liquidated P3,269,50 + P2,006.00 (gas in transporting the boyz from cond facility to araneta, bread, mineral water, packed lunch,thermo hygrometer, linoleum, 1limber pen,extra food). bai izlo P6k (2k-PAL cargo, 2k-van to ormoc, contingencies). addt'l hotel billed (4-day stay) 3,800.00
or a total of P15,075.00.... whew, not a joke to fight in manila for 4 days.
finally, 40,3k less 15,075 = 25,375 available funds for vsc

am with bai ed's suggestion of placing this available funds

Salamat kaayo sa pag apil ninyo sa Cyberfriends Global Derby in Araneta. I know its difficult for the team to travel but still you managed to have a decent score. Niabay pud ko ug pusta sa uban ninyo nga fights kung maka timing ko nga nakalinya na for the next fight. I was quite busy during the derby but still manage to watch some of your fights. The birds did not show any signs of OFF syndrome and fought very well.

Naa pa taga Australia nga sige nako ug pangutana kung unsa entries ang pwede pustahan. I told him pustahi na EVGBA tsunami ug A1 EVGBA kay imported ang gakondisyon sa manok hehehe.

My next project is the Cyberfriends mid year Global derby in Cebu. This time, kami na pud ang motravel and we will see what will be the result.

as the song goes, almost there, we're almost there !

1, 1D, 1, 1, the 5th fight, the most anticipated, full
of suspense, thrill of victory & agoroy of defeat (doc p.) !
all of our money, all of our plans (bai naval) hangs on this
very crucial 5th fight. and as we all know by now, we lost
this fight as well as the last fight, bwuhuhuhu !!! i thought
we really had a VERY VERY GOOD CHANCE of getting the
5th fight as all of izlo's roosters were really focused and
on point. fyi, bai izlo has always been at the cakhaws
really watching every knitty gritty of pointing and holding
on point the roosters (salute him for this very prof. attitude). and as i have watched this show of roosters, the
5th and last roosters were really among the best. as a
matter of fact, the 5th rooster is my favorite, as this is the sparring partner of doc s. hatch grey that won at the
araneta. the 6th rooster won unscathed at the recently
held sinulog derby in cebu. we have a saying in visayan,
"ang maayong manok, maayo sab modala og pildi". grrrr,
i hate this visayan saying as most of the time, it holds
true.

i have witnessed most of the feb. big time derbies of vsc
for the past many years, and i can say that this derby is
really one of the VERY VERY TOUGH ones. entries with
roosters bought from big time (bob cuenca, otic geroso,
joe laureno,danilo hinlo, eric lacson, r. valiente, lancey dlt, etc of negros, boy go of iloilo,s. lagon, joey lapid (roadmaster fame) of san pablo, pong plaza, rey briones, claude bautista, b. primallion., i may have missed many others, as am sure masbate group, and samar group bought roosters also from big time breeders for this derby.
btw, the superss breds were also shown in this derby
backed by the cebu group of the monsanto bros., and
bai luther (khazimline) cagigas of cebu and chiboy/benet
pongos of ormoc.

our 3rd and 4th fights were easy wins. we are always
heavily favored on this two fights (3rd was against the
masbate group and 4th was against gov. raul daza of
samar). both fights were like instant replays, as bai
izlo's roosters were fighting uniformly. they both got them
twice on the fly and were easy picking on the ground. i
thought they suffered only slight/minor cuts only.

5th fight. we're fighting a winered banana-yellow legged rooster (must be a 3yr old) against d&l coliseum.
d&l rooster is sweater looking rooster with white streamers. from their looks, our rooster is really favored
although the opponent is sporting also a no loss slate.
after the release, the usual war dance,and sizing up of the
opponents moves. true to form, our rooster was very,
very calm as they were side by side now with one another
as if trying to provoke the other to make the 1st move. and so the opponent did make the first move, and we made a salto. did not connect. now, they're face to face,
the opponent again made the 1st move and we made
again the usual salto. this time we made the hit ! YES !!
but the opponent was really fast on the ground, trying to
retaliate. we made a side step,... no hit. this time, they
were fighting on the ground. there was quick exchange of
blows by the 2 warriors and all of a sudden, i saw our
rooster's head doing some docking moves. OH NO !!!
1st i thought he was hit at the neck as he keeps on docking, and moving/going below the opponents body, as
if trying to protect his head from getting hit. careo, careo
still giving a peck and some shots at the opponents body but i can already see that his blows were now getting
softer and softer, until ......... agoroy, the agony of defeat. we checked the wounds at the cakhaws probing
as to why he kept on docking and his blows going soft.
got a deep hit in between the neck and shoulders (pas-anan). i can see the sadness and gloom in bai izlos face
and eyes. told him not to worry, as we'll get the next
opponent for a 4pt win and some prize also (any 4-wins).

our last fight was a red white leg (winner at the cebu,sinulog derby unscathed). we are going up against the
team from oroquieta (3 no loss), they were showing a
very handsome blue-legged grey bought from bob cuenca
of the la carlota group. these entry was i thought one of
the toughest entry(darkhorse). easily disposed also of their opponents. after the release, they both met up on the air.
no hit. the grey was always pushing the fight. we are on
defensive mode, making salto salto. i thought the grey
was overpowering our red as everytime they got close
giving out poweful inside blows, our rooster is getting
weaker and weaker (must be the powerful hits the grey
is really throwing). and then came the finishing blows, whew, i thought we got outroostered for the 1st time.
my hats off to this entry. incidentally, they came out one
of the champions.

from the text i got this evening 5 entries were champions.
wacky salud's entry (supposedly the entry of manny pacquiao), NICK tacloban (using victorias roosters), an
entry of ronnei valiente (bacolod), san jacinto entry (sorry no id) and the oroquieta entry which dealt us our last loss.
must be other winners but this is what i gathered.

bai ed, will dessiminate the planned meeting on march 4. was able to talk to bebe nunez our director from baybay. hope he can attend the meeting as he has many ideas and bright plans also for the group. when is your tentative arrival ? if the plan pushes through, i thought we should go
very early in the morning or maybe make an overnight (fri.) stay at st. bernard. the place is 3 1/2 hrs drive from ormoc city.

I hope everyone has already heard the news and probably seen on television what happened to Bgy. Guinsaugon which is a mountain barangay at the foot of the mountain. It happened between 10 - 11 am. It was raining hard the past several days and suddenly, the area was jolted by a moderate earthquake and immediately tons of volcanic stones and mudflows came rushing down to the area swallowing the whole barangay. It's a horrible thing to happen but we are still hoping that there will be survivors in the next 24 hours. God willing! Let's pray for them.

The place is about 5 kms away from my farm going upstream. I told my people to be on the lookout for flashfloods going down the mountain and to be alert at all times. By 1 pm., I told them to evacuate the area and transfer (including all my chickens, off course) to a safer ground at the back of the municipal hall.

We are very sorry for this calamity, we wish we could be of help at this time.
ABOUT THE EVGBA MEETING:

1. The Day - since the start we never had a meeting held on a Sunday. This is just an extra activity outside our family affairs, as our Mr. VP calls it, FAMILY DAY. So, the meeting can be any day except SUNDAY.

2. Votation - we could have done the votation before the March 4 plan to have it. Anyway, this day is two weeks away so as far as votation is concerned. It can be March 4, 11 or 18?

3. The Landslide - as I've said, we wish we could be of help. At this time, if it so happened that we have sufficient funds, this falls in the criteria of why we formed this association. At this time, we just hope that the much needed relief goods are on the way.We can not progress on anything yet as far as project like this is concerned. Let's just hope a calamity like this will not happen again.

I would like to thank you all for your concerns and prayers. The best we can do now is for more PRAYERS that somehow, there will still be survivors.

All the help are already on the way may it be local and foreign donations. The only thing that we asked from our national and local executives is, for once in their christian life because of the incoming monetary and in-kind donations coming in, we hope that all of these will reach the intended recipients. Huwag naman nating pagsamatalahan itong trahedya na ito.

1. Now we have to come back what's or are the causes of this? In Ormoc areas after that flood that claimed too many thousand lives, there is a strong move against illegal logging that even the trees that you planted in your very own titled land, you can not cut them unless you have the necessary clearances. It's a pain in the ass getting these clearances you know; 1st you have to go to Albuera to submit your title and location map, then go to your baranggay center to get the no objection certificate, go backt to Albuera to contact inspectors to inspect the trees that you will be cutting, then secure a mayor's permit(only after the inspector's certification that the trees really belong to you) only then that you have to comebackl to Albuera again for the clearance. I hope this will pay off and will really work and tragedies like flooding will not occur anymore. I wonder if this was enforced in Sourthern Leyte as this is not the 1st time that a landslide occured in these areas.And how about our reforestration projects?In my locality alone, the once very thickly forested highlands are now "KALBO" as even after the Ormoc tragedy no reforestration had been done. Well it's true that there is a srong drive for illegal logging but how those trees that were cut before this law came into effect? They should be replaced!!!

2. On the other hand, while typing the post above I had a constant communication with our VP bai Cholo through text messages and he reckoned even Doc Sonny is contacting bai Izlo nga ang iyang mga ACES (kay tua pa diay daghang kauban tong nangharos sa Araneta HMMMNNN maayo unta ug tuay masaag bisa'g 2 sa ako hex3), irelocate. So, it's obvious that the place is still unstable until now. So this is the moment nga we solicit some invitations to hold the EVGBA March 2006 meeting......

Alam natin na kumikilos na ang ating pamunuan tungkol sa relief operations. Nagunguna diyan ang (NDCC) National Disaster Coordinating Council, Dept of Social Welfare, Dept of Health, Public Works and Highways, RED CROSS, etc, etc.
Our National government down to the smallest unit, barangay, of the local government, are in full gear sa recovery/relief operations sa kasalukuyan.
The main concerns right now are: FOOD, SHELTER, CLOTHING, MEDICINE, SanitaryFacilities, Preservation/decontamination/Identification of the dead, Transport, Communication, among others.
Madali siguro matulungan yung 50 + survivors.
Ang kailangan ng atensyon ay yung mga fatalities, possible survivors, at mga evacues.
SEARCH and RESCUE ang kailangan ngayon, followed by RECOVERY.
Balitang-balita sa buong mundo and nagaganap sa aking probinsya kung kaya't dumadagsa ang tulong na nanggagaling sa iba't ibang bansa.
Patuloy pa rin ang ulan kung kaya't possible pa rin na magkaroon ng landslide sa ibang lugar. Dapat ay bigyan ng tuon ang mga delikado na mga lugar.
Sana ay gumawa ng paraan ang ating pamunuan para ma-iwasan ang ganitong trahedya. Alam ng lahat na kailangan ang Reforestration, River Control, Flood control.
Bukangbibig yan tuwing eleksyon.
Sana naman ang tulong ay makarating sa kinauukulan.
