In my experience i win a lot/higher percentage of wins if i observed or stay for a while at the matching area/ulutan. First hand you can see who is aggressive and not in matching. When you stand before them when they put them near to each other, as an experience cocker you can fairly judge which cock is better conditioned or if one of them is short bred,etc. I wait for about 5-6 pairings before going to the pit gallery to place my bet and enjoy watching them fight.
This way is better than going directly to the pit gallery to select when the birds are inside the arena already. This is the reason why my winning average is higher in UCAP Mandaluyong as compared to Araneta, because Im closer to the cocks as their tare/knives are being tied. I have a better view of their bodies,height, color,etc. Of course the above method is based on percentage bettings.
