i heard a barber story of black traveller..,its a gypsy chicken from england...the owner is the handler of Claret...a gypsy

Claret is an english royal blood..and he fire out the handler...the handler vows revenge thats why he breeds black traveller coz claret cocks were white...

to make the story short..they're chicken met in a derby..of course the black won and made champion...now claret offer the owner to be in his group...the owner turned him down..and said..."I was once your handler but you fire me out...now...i have my own breeding and my own buyers...i dont need your offer"

now, do we need american chickens?

    just my lil lines

i equally like the sweater and the lemon, can't choose between them. but lately i just found out that the lemon-sweater cross is a lot better than any of the two.

haven't seen any zambo white or zambo black fought yet. i've seen lots of whites and blacks lost badly in the pits. i guess they were not zambos.

but for this poll's sake, i choose brains over speed. i go for the LEMON.

Sweaters, Lemons, Zamboanga White, Zamboanga Black ?

I have only seen the sweaters and none the the other strains mentioned. Therefore, my vote is not objective. Nonetheless, I think the sweaters from Gene Batia and Bruce Barnett are the best I have seen that can fight with the best here in the USA.

A friend of mine told be about the Lemons that Duke Hulsey created they were a great winning line, which became known as the 84's in PI. According to my good friend, he asked Duke what they were, Duke replied that the Lemons were a 4 way cross, 1/4 Bumblefoot Grey, 1/4 McLean Hatch, 1/4 Butcher & 1/4 Kelso.

My friend also told me that Duke developed line of greys that were famous in the PI. They were known as the "Pretty Boys"
1/2 Blue Face and 1//2 Bumblefoot Grey.

    Brokewing,

Maybe you have the point but the new version of Lemons are no longer the same as what Duke Hulsey brought in PI. If you notice the entries in WSC's with lemons, some dark, light, RH, White, Green and Yellow Legged..and even the material being used to produce these Fetheared Gladiators are not 100 percent pure from the original.

    Sweater. Lemons,...

    Linoj,

No way for me to know what the Lemons look like that WSC show since I live in the U.S. From you comments they do not resemble the original strain of Lemon 84s that Duke Hulsey brought to PI. Also, from you comments the WSC Lemons are not very uniform in color and phenotype. Do they all fight the same? I guess what really matters is putting the "W" on the board.

Lemon, with a dash of sweater. The sweater will
    add bottom and beauty.

Watch for the next issue of Pit Games. It will have an edition
of the Legends of the Pit featuring the lemons.

From it you may see why lemons are very popular in the Philippines.
Also you may get to know the breeders behind the Philippine lemons.

back to the lemon...i think it is the best ever that came out in
phil. sabong...the zw is gone...i don't know about the zb and
who cares...and the sweaters are showing signs of decline...
but the lemons is still up there...but one thing i noticed though...
there is a growing popularity of the black fowls...

black is the best recipe against sweaters

to beat a good sweater.......you need another bloodline......that is much faster than the sweaters.........and those are blackfowl

blacks that are fast in the score line.........that can go up faster in the air.......when you see the black crosses of tisay, jet and toto combine in candelaria 2005........that`s it.
