All set for Filipino short knife competition

The stage is all set for the first ever short knife tilt in the Philippines to be held in honor of sabong.net.ph and The Cockhouse.

The event is spearheaded by CVBA (Central Visayas Breeders Ass.) & Cockers Worldwide, a sabong.net based organization, mostly of Cebuano speaking sabungeros worldwide.

It will be held at Sugarland Arena, homecourt of CVBA World, in Kimba, City of Talisay, Cebu, Philippines.

It will be a two-stag derby incorporated with the fastest win format.

There will be cash prizes and awards for the fastest combined win of the two stags, fastest individual win, and also a gameness award that will go to the loser of the longest decided fight.

Entries from the US, Canada, Puerto Rico, Malaysia and the Philippines are expected to slug it out for the honors.

Among the top seeds are the birds of Owl's Nest/dark creek entry of Mike Lanier of US and Victor Sierra.
Lanier has been sunset cocker of the year.

Other strong contenders are the NICAP entries, the Araw ng Dabaw reigning champion of Newton Isaac of California and Capeding brothers; the four entries pledged by Sentenciador that includes Don Mauro Prieto's Anitos; that of mayor Juancho Aguirre; the 3 reflexes entries of Ryan Arguelles; and Mila Farm of Ben Dimaano, back-to-back EL Dia de Zamboanga champion.

The hosts Cebuanos will be spearheaded by the Sierras, Alvin Lim's Mighty Wings, RB Sugbo Gamefowl Technology, others from CVBA Worldwide.

I dnt think there are videos. If there are Glenn Lim should have it.

I witnessed this event with a friends entry Loreto Rico.

Sorry, for me it was not successful. Coz if it was sucessful. It could be yearly or twice yearly.

There are lots of draws. And people left. For me it was boring.

Sad to say that but that is what I feel.

A very good claret fowl. Who cant be touched loses at the end coz he is tired of flying and cant kill his opponent right away. A low headed hatch wins this derby whos job is to peck and just shuffles

it is a brawl game. My opinion only.

The format and set up looks good. Maybe the short knife is just too small for the type of birds used. Maybe it will again be tried with two blades.
