by the way guys, can a "pure" rampuri withstand the punishments of nakedheel fighting? or rampuri x asil (viper, brazilian, pakistan etc for more mass and height)? thanks...

im thinking of trying the nakedheel, someday.

    Rampuri style

Hey guys what style does the rampuri asil play? Are they headhunters, body hitters? I am planning to throw in some rampuri into Thai and ganoi for tape boxing. Anyone have any videos?

    Re: Rampuri style

Tonio has the Short more compact Rampuri Asils. They are deadly cutters and are more aggressive then most Asil Boxer styles. The Put power, body, smarts into any family.

I have been into tape boxing for a very long time. I have heard praise of rampuri but everything I have come across is for bred towards knife. Most of them are in the 5 to 6 lb range. In tape boxing you need to be at least 7 lbs. I have been to brazil and Puerto Rico and what I see doesn't really impress me.

    Re: Rampuri Asil

    fowled-out,

To be honest, there is a better forum for naked heel fowls than this forum as it covers mostly artificial spur/ weapon fights but not exclusively of course, naked heel is cockfighting also so it's very welcomed in this site...

You might want to take a peep at ganoi.com as it tackles mostly naked heel fowls...

In regards to the Rampuri Asil you see here, they are not the "real rampuri aseel", which are from the mother land (indian continent), most of the ones you see here are for the steel weapons fights (to be graded to american fowls) like the ones I have...

If you can get the "real rampuri aseel" from the mother land, I am sure you will be happy with them for the naked heel fights as that is their game there... An Indian colleague here told me of first hand accounts on how good the rampuri aseel from the "State of Rampur" in India really are, they are even fought in the "Knife" steel game...

This is a "Rampuri Aseel" in Pakistan (not my photo)

These are the Knives they use in India

    Re: Rampuri Asil

cnucum, you have some really nice asils! Great job! How long have you been breeding these types of asils? I am just getting involve with asils, I recently was gifted a Boles Blk asil/Black Mcrae cross brood stag, he is about 5 months old now but this dude is very impressive. I love their tight feathers and compact solid body! My friend suggested that I get a pair or trio from so I can do some crossing myself and I took him on his offer. So I got a trio of Boles Black Asils coming in March. A friend and I are also partnering up to get a pair of Rampuri Asils which will be here by the end of February. Looking forward to adding these fowl to my yard.

Nice stag JNCBLAS, that looks like mine before I graded them down. I keep mine more on the black side and tried hatch and black crosses at 1/8 asil in them. I need them a bit faster than at 1/2 and 1/2.

    Re: Rampuri Asil

Thanks perfect-gull! He will be crossed to my Mcraes and Leipers, also keeping it on the black side! The breeder who gifted me this stag said that he likes them at half but like you I wanted more speed, so he also sent me a black McRae hen that is the sister of this stags mom! Right now she's sitting on her eggs which are due to hatch this week, mated her to the McRae brood cock I got from my friend!
