    black butcher

Heard that a lot of big breeders have them in their farm. Peter Uy, Lance, Paeng Araneta to name a few.

This type of breed adds cutting, can anyone please elaborate the characteristics of this line? and infusion how many percentage.

Black Butcher lost in Sagupaan July 15

Just watched a Black Butcher lose last night at Sagupaan TV show. It was during the SJ International derby. It went against a Lemon Sweater (I think). It didn't break high and was cutting short. My novice opinion says that it was kinda dry so that cock didn't show its true potential.

But indeed, Black Butchers (Butchers, in general) are said to be great cutters.

    Black Butchers!

A good cock doesnt have the idea of losing in the pit.

I saw a Black Butcher in Texas last year. I was impressed with it and the breeder was so unselfish in telling me how it was bred.

Base: Sid Taylor Black Cock X Bill Roberts Banana Leg Butcher
Offspring Pullets were crossed to Sid Taylor Black(1/2) and Jumper Radio (1/2) Cock
The Product was then cross to the original ST Black Cock and just goes back and forth with the Banana Leg butcher and ST Black. He uses Kearney Whitehackle to freshen up the blood also (I am not sure how this gets infused)

the results were good breaks, little bit of billhonds though, power shuffles and excellent cuts. but it only produced well balance Mid stations roosters. The breeder had to cull a lot of his biddies also based on body conformation and color.

It was told to be black butchers but you can see as to what bloodlines where used.

    The beauty of breeding... =)

They are the gamest Butchers , the brass backs. Peter Uy has the Richardson line both from Marvin Greene and Harold Brown. They are the real stuff. But you just need a quarter to 1/8 of the blood. Mostly if not all red will come out bred to reds.

    Re: black butcher

back in the day we would use a few once in awhile but you need to cross them ours came from Bull Run farms they are real good cutters and smart while very fast they have alot of bottom but dont think they are the best birds pure they need to be crossed we put ours with B Round Heads or hatch did real good in any heal love them good honest birds they come about 80percent brass and 20 percent red always strait comb and 90 percent white leg and 10 percent yellow hope this helps. I would say that we used 50 percent butcher crosses the last 4or 5 years at the Bayou club and we won our share . look it up ,Magnolia club if you get right ones you will love them.

    Re: black butcher

anyone heard of Siong Huat Black butchers. I heard they are the ones who started the craze. Only a few people got it. Two people originally actually, imported it to PI. Lots of people tried to create their versions. Lots end up with reddish brassback, ours are grey brassback. Thats what our PI friends told us when they bought ours. I could be wrong, just interested to know. Since people claimed theirs are pure and original. To me they aren't pure as people say, you need to cross here and there to get it. Since the true story and origin is unknown. Let me know if I'm wrong. I am interested in what people have to say. We come from Brunei
