A good hatch. Awesome killers. Atleast for me.
I like them crossed with Gilmore. Either 1/2 & 1/2 or 3/4 Gilmore & 1/4 Yellow leg.
FIS,
thanks guys for ur replys, i also have chris nesmith sweater i think i have to cross with them, but why i seldom heard about the yellow leg oakgrove used in the big fights correct me if im wrong but i always see the onslaught of the sweater.who among the breeders used this bloodline
Oakgrove Hatch to another hatch (e.g. Gilmore)? Hmmmmm........................ perhaps for the shortknife.
For me, the sixth choice would be another sweater.

I use a YL cock over Nesmith gilmore hens. Accurate with power & bottom, any weapon.
The Sweater/YL cross made Brown famous for a couple of years 'til he lost the one Sweater cock that made those almost unstoppable cocks. He never found another Sweater cock that could produce the same quality battle cocks from the same yard of YL hens
FIS,
so if i have a clarence stewart ylh cock then i cross it with a 7/8 gilmore 1/8 sweater..would it still be ok to fight it in lk competition?
i 2nd the sweater ( 3/4 sweater 1/4 oak grove)
Partner,
I think you'll be pleased with that cross. They are not flashy but they are very deliberate & strike a very fatal blow.
The YL I'm speaking of are the Yellowleg family of Doc Robinson hatch that ole man Gene Brown had, which contained the Clarence Steward blood in it's make up. The Gilmore I'm speaking of is from Nesmith. My crosses get their speed and accuracy fro the gilmore side and bitter gameness and power from the YL side. If your birds bloodlines are simular to mine it should make a competitive cross. We've also had good percentage of winners from the sweater/gilmore cross but most of that cross sustain a lot of injury and don't get as many clean winners as with the YL/gilmore cross.
FIS,
rock, do you fight your sweater-gilmore in lk or sk ?
contact number of oakgrove farm please.
You can cross it with Kelsos, Roundheads, Lemons, Sweaters. I made a blend with the Hoskins yl Hatch. Hoping for a nick.
follow up question....so who have this yl oakgrove hatch in the Philippines?..any info please.
Partner,
We were competing in the LK with the gilmore/sweater crosses but discontinued breeding them because we liked the YL/gilmore crosses better. I think Gene has started using a lot of Albany and has basicly lost the YL seed fowl over the last few years.
FIS,
that rocks !!! tnx for the info...![]()
The Silverbuck group of Joe Alimbuyugin, Danny Arjueho, Jay de Jesus has the best Oakgrove both the YL and Gl family.
ty for the info sir windjammer...where is exactly their farm located? i've heard and read this "silverbuck", if i am not mistaken i've see them fought in the wscup and bakbakan. do they sell their fowl sir?
JERRY, GLAD to know you know more about what I have than I do.No we have not lost them as everything we fight is 1/2 Stuart
blood. We also had other Sweaters to cross with them but they are better cocks crossed with the Albany.WE HAVE ONLY WON COCKER OF THE YEAR AT SUNSET 4 times & missed winning it this year by 1 fight.Guess if I could find those that I lost they would be hell of a roosters again.LOL
Gene, I stand corrected, just knew you were using a lot of Albany and hadn't heard much about the YL hatch for a while. I apoligize since my post was inaccurate and made without full knowledge of the albany crossed bloodlines.
FIS,
mr brown,
can you please PM me your contact number so i can place an order this year.
thanks.

You can call Mr. Alimbuyugin on this number 09217543375. They have both the yellow and green leg oakgrove. As far as I know they have never infused any from the time they imported their fowl. The yellow leg are more accurate while the green legs pack a wallop.
sir UGONG thanks a lot for the info.
