    Question "Coach" dautreuil keep

    hi Bro's

do anyone of you, use the Coach's keep method? Did it work for you? any helpful stuff that made you improve your husbandry?

    how about other keeps?

i've been practicing some of Doc TJT's, but of course still want that extra edge.

    thanks for your inputs!

The good thing about The Coach is it tells you step by step procedures of good methods.
The one thing he is missing is the scientific theories behind the methods.
In other words, you will be doing something good but you don’t really know why specially that most of the medicines and conditioning agents he tells you are not generic but his own mix.

That book Philippine Cocking fundamentals will tell you more about scientific theories behind the methods but will not guide you to a step by step one direction procedure.
The Backyard Flock and A Guide to Better Hatching are good reference books to maintain healthy fowls.
Poultry Genetics for the non professional and DNA reference reading materials ( I use to have the address of the site but lost it, I just have the hard and soft copy now in my mini cruiser disk) will help you understand breeding the gamefowl.
Tanchangco will tell you the common Natural Method of conditioning.

after viewing it i never took it serious. there are some good points in it of coarse but i think it is more of an advertisement to sell his products and fowl.
i have seen the charlie carr video and it is the best i have seen. it is a good gaff keep i guess it would work for the lk as well.

    Draven,

Thanks for the referral but we no longer breed them. One of my close friends coined the name "disposable line" on those greys. Those birds ,I believe, were bred for gaff fighting. Game, powerful, low breaking, medium station birds. We have won fights with them (around 75% win) but are always badly wounded and could no longer be used again. Their desire to win is phenomenal but it is not good enough to compete with the angat, sarado smart fighters commonly used in the Philippines.

    thanks for the reply guys!

choco you are right. just to pick up some stuff here and there. i dont want to be complacent and stagnate, at least we learn something different from time to time.

    thanks again!
