    Reading Kaliskis:

Hi, I was just wondering how many of you read the scales on your roosters legs and if so whats your favorite markings and what do they meen? Like My favorite marking is when there is at least three rows or more of the three in a row split scales opposite side of the spur, usally on the left leg or if both legs even better!!

yes...i read scales...so far, my score with good scale is 53 wins 1 loss...the last win against
blue blade @ a derby in talisay complex in cebu. i was fighting a left nose bruce barnett sweater with a 3 1/2 scale in each middle toe. my only loss was against blue blade the
same day the same derby i was using a lemon roundhead of lance de la torre with one belt
(scale) wrapped around in both legs...according to my almanac i am not supposed to lose a first fight with this kind of scales...but i think the opponent has better scales...my favorite
scales are pitong bacod (crown) one scale sorrounded with seven scales, split scales in the toes and prop, baston (canes), crosses beside the spur, belts, paningit a tiny scale in between the toes...

I have an eight time winner blue cross with the back toe on the left leg has 4 split scales in a row. Now I look for cocks that have even only one split scale on the left leg back toe. Seems I get lucky everytime with this marking. Don't know what it is called. I just call it a lucky mark.

    Re: Reading Kaliskis:

    Sir Kogs,
In 2005, I loss in a 5 stag championship match with your favorite scale: pitong bacod/crown/coronado or king of all scales. Tsk tsk tsk

My favorite is scale is "Sukdip or split scale sa Pandulan or Pamandulan". I will parade soon in the WSC using my signature breed with all these scales, perhaps in 2 years as they are clean winner stags/bullstags at present.

    Happy cocking guys!

as i've experienced i've had good luck fighting roosters with good scales from 1/2, 3 1/2 scale in the middle toe to the bastonan and pitong bakod (7 coronas)..... but when you're being attacked by luck....... just pray nalang that you both have the same equal luck and you'd leave it to who's chicken is better and conditioned well.

    Re: Reading Kaliskis:

Guys, now iknow that having good scales is not a garuntied win, but is it true that the scales will tell the story on how the birds fighting styles is? and if so can anyone share some info on scales? Like what kind of scales do what and how to look for them or what it looks like. Thank guys.. Reading scales is something Ive always wanted to learn more about and Im really interested in getting more into depth in this subject.

I learned reading scales the hardway, usually having chicken talk with successful elderly cocker/breeder.

well armed leg...the crown or pitong bacod one round scales sorrounded with seven round scales located where it's supposed to be. it can be defeated with a baston....but you also have paningit and a cross plus split scales in the toes...he can always find ways to win
    against his opponent...breed him...
