They break very high and seem to cut deep. Mine are yellow legged pea combs. Good station but not that big breasted. SO far they have a good win percentage. This a picture of a pure pair. The cock won my championship fight in Makati last year

    Sir Tonio,

What bloodline is best to cross with this humphrey kelso? And what other fights where you able to test this bloodline? Can you please tell more about this kelso? Your help is very much appreciated. Thanks!!!

I have not had them very long have only 4 of them, all pure. 3 won and one was a draw. I had one crossed with lacy roundhead and he won too. They supposedly cross well with Leiper hatch. I don't really like the bodies of these kelso..Gona test them out somemore..Their best quality is really the break and their power

Hearsay...yun daw lawit tendency ay salto...is this true? Hindi ko rin ma connect but a lot swear by it.

Marami din nagsasabi na pangit ang slab sided.

    Re: Humphry Kelso

This is not the same line..he was talking about the out-out kelso..These Gillys have a better style for slasher..The wait and then go up high..The out-out though cross real well with our greys

    Sir Tonio,

Thank you so much for the added info. Hope you can still share more what you know about this kelso line. Where were you able to get your stocks? Are they all imported? Thanks again!

Have none of the Humphry blood but was raised close to Bud and Gilly. They always had beautiful fowl. Great plumage. And were tough too.

Would not have a clue as to who has them, but growing up in north Louisiana I knew Gilly and Bud, Gilly was a different sort would not have an extra ounce of weight on a bird, have never seen anyone feed so little.

Mr. Gilly Humphrey has been dead for years now. He lived in Bossier, Louisiana U.S.A. closed to the river is where he puts his chickens and I used to visit him at that time. He was not anymore breeding his chickens because of his age. He said people are stealing his Birds and Varmints are killing his chickens too. He lives alone at that time and was already getting too Old to raise his birds. VERY NICE AND DECENT MAN. At that time he has only less than 30 chickens left and has a friend of him take care some of his birds. Don't know the name of the man though. Until he passed away. But he did had some really good Kelso's. Long time ago in the Philippines his Birds were winning in a SPECTACULAR WAY. His birds are very athletic. Never saw his birds fight, but according to the person who saw his Birds fight in Bacolod long time ago WON SPECTACULARY.
