mine is the other way around.too much carb makes my chickens heavier.I use more beans more proteins than more carbs during conditioning to build more muscle.I stand to be corrected though...

Well, Edgar We use cooked rice 1 day before the fight until fight day mixed with our carbo loading feed to lessen the rooster's stress and enabling them to easily digest their feed for a worry-free pointing....Hope this helps.....Good luck

i use cooked rice as a source of carbohydrates during conditioning. i also use it on fight day, my rationale being it is easier to digest compared to cracked corn.

Thanks fellow cockers for your good infos. I will be trying this during my vacation time in the Philippines if it will add power to my cocks and if they are really easier to point.
How about using it a little bit longer like two to three weeks before the fight anybody have any experience regarding this?

too much carbo will make them sluggish especially with less exercise just like human if you take in too much carbo without any exercise the tendency is for you to get big and heavy unless you have fast metabolism to burn those exess fats

Re: cook rice in conditioning feed

I use pearl barley and it's kinda feels like rice. I got to clean it like rice and cook it like rice and it actuaaly feels kinda like rice when cooked. But how would you compare the 2(rice & pearl barley). Also can you buy pearl barley in PI. I like using the barley & oats during conditioning stage. I use a liitle in beginning stage (week1) of conditioning and towards the middle stage (week2) it evens out and toward the last stage (week3) it's more barley & oats then feeds. Would rice be the same way to use. I'd never tried to use rice before. I know pearl barley holds more moisture. So the cock dont tend to dry out so fast. Does rice do the same. Can anyone compare the two for me please. Also if anyone knows where to buy pearl barley in PI. Please let me know so I could get my caretaker of my birds to buy some.

If you can manage two feed twice a day, give feed mix in morning then rice, peart barley, and oat groats at night.

If you feed once a day, add a tablespoon of your choice of carbs onto daily ration.

Re: cook rice in conditioning feed

For PI cockers, boil u'r concentrate mix for 15-20 minutes as well...even the seeds (tapilan, mungo, soya...etc) have to be cooked to make them more digestible..they are only partially digested when raw..they have trypsin inhibitors that bind protein rendering them un-absorbable. Dont over cook...some roast the feed w/c adds to the problem due to over cooking.

Add some evap milk to the water and store in fridge..feed as needed.

cracked corn...yeeepee..that's it ..cheap,available and high in carbohydrates..just need basic enzynes to be digested and absorbed. like what the oldies say..keep them healthy and stick to the basics.

dextrose from what i've heard is sweet..hehe..d5LR,d5nss,d10,d50...

Re: cook rice in conditioning feed

cook leftover rice is actually a good feed.

bear with me about this story.

we prepare two cocks to fight in a hack in nearby barrio. one of the became off, so we needed a replacement. my nephew, who is a 12 year old had a mistiso cock that he feed only leftover rice, use this as replacement and no conditioning, no vox, and no prep. we just pick up and went.

to make the story short, the cock won 2x that same day, but died from the second fyt cuz of many injuries.

We kept laughing all the way to the beerhouse and the ho house!!!

It was bittersweet for my nephew when he got home from school that his manok was missing. I gave him 1,000 p just to make him stop crying.

so, cook rice is a very good feed.

good luck everyone in your fyt.
