    Re: roy gray black's

Roy Gray passed away around the 1980s or 1990s and I heard that he had the Black line. I am curious also if somebody can show us some pics and video clips to enjoy.

Hey Rod, how are you and I sent you a PM. Your signature is so tempting to re arrange. Here is the very old version (actually it all came from the Legal Profession). "Pag baluktot ay tinutuwid, pag tuwid ay binabaluktot."

Apurado, It would be very nice if you can add video clips to the pics. I was wondering if your dad kept them pure?

Eto si Rod, puro kuwento lang pero walang pics, lalo na pag big Negros farm pa ang na tour niya at si Mang Otic pa! Ay naku Rod, bitin naman.

    Ed,

I actually forgot to bring a camera. They were actually Brownred per Mr. Otic Geroso. They were almost culled by Mr. Geroso way back in the 70's due to very low winning percentage. It took him 15 long years to find the knick (Blueface).

    Re: roy gray black's

Paeng Araneta had them a long time ago. We were able to get them from him and had good results. The guy from Oregon, Colt Security steel has them if you want. I do no think he got them from Roy Gray though. I have some Roy Gray Kelsos but I did not get them direct also. When Roy Gray died or maybe right before, The Alabama Special entry got most of his stocks. One of them is still in the game but he said he is using diferent lines now, but still has a few of the old Roys. Anyway they were fast and agreesive birds and you need to cross them.

I have seen this bloodline in a friend's farm. I was told that the Roy Gray Brownreds are the only black family that are dead game in steel. Will not sulk or quit even if badly hurt.

I believe Peter Uy continues to breed some Roy Gray Brownreds which he acquired from Paeng Araneta over 20 years ago.

The Roy Gray Brownreds are Awesome birds. Hit hard, very fast & gamer than any other Blacks you will find. Good LK birds.

Mine came from Knox Moore Jr who I got to know & was a great guy.

    Re: roy gray black's

Rod, could you find out from Mang Otec, when did he or the breeder that imported the RG blacks get them? And this quesiton goes to the other posters in this thread. My information says that around 1979 to early 1980s, Roy Gray infused a super hatch line and you might have this black family with this hatch.

If the Roy Gray blacks that you have this style, like:
It can score on the break (it means, the RG bird can score on the top of the break and just before it lands, give the opponent another quick scores- many times the opponent will be down after the break), it has a very fast recoil, it has power and gameness to win on the drag.

These are the very unique traits of the hatch infusion.

Colt, very nice Roy Gray Black. I am very curious when your friend got the breeding stock from Roy Gray. Could you comment on the style of your Roy Gray Black. I am not going to ask to share a video clip of his style because of the ****.

    thanks-ed

    Re: roy gray black's

Most of mine have a little bit of Wingate in them but their style did not change. They are actually called the Roy Gray Brownreds.

They are very fast, aggressive cutting Brownreds with more heart that any I have seen. They have won Derbys in the Gaff, SK & LK at Copperstate. Good LK birds because if you out smart them, you still need speed to get out of their way. They win very quick because they are all speed & feet with a lot of aggression & break well.

Their only down fall is the Aggression that tends to get them cut up in the process.

    Another pic of one,

Thanks Jim. On the break, do the Roy Gray Brownreds often down the opponents in the first buckle or second buckle?
