    Democrat Bloodlines

I heard of these bloodline for a very long time, maybe since I was in high school. my question is, where is this breed right now? How come nobody's using this in any major pits today, at least I haven't heard of someone. ( big boyz ) Do they still exist? Well I know of one American breeder from Alabama who still breeds them, but are they still good like before? I would like to know more info about this bloodline. Where it first originates, originator name, blood composition, how they look like when pure, their station, comb, feet color and fighting style. Is there any Filipino breeders still propagating this bloodline? Why do they stop fighting this legendary strain. Kindly share your thought/s on this.

These are our pure Democrats. We have both the Paul Webster and the Paytons. These are exellent ground birds for us with alot of game. They have done well for us when pure in the sk.We mostly cross them with Albany or with Yellow Leg Hatch and had great results. This year we will try some stags that are 1/2 Democrat 1/2 Sweater.

boy diaz still has the old democrat hatches - dark red, green legged, straight combed, always fight on top (salto) and crosses them with his marion rose mcleans. marion rose and kit skeens were fighting this cross so boy diaz just continued with what was winning for those legends back then. i understand blondie rollan created this line together with william mcrae or something. i believe it has a dash of the griffin claret in them.

    Mr. Edmundo,

Thanks for giving us your thoughts on this. I saw Clinis Hall's DEMOCRAT, and they are basically yellow legged, medium station...and according to him they are merely straffer, they are deadly cutters on top. But can we fight them PURE? More info before I buy a trio from him....thanks again!!!

The Democrats are 3/4 Hatch 1/4 Claret, the hatch blood used I believe was a stuart Yellow leg,the claret blood was direct from madigan...William mcrae was a breeder of this strain and the paytons aquired their Democrats from mr. Mcrae, contacting Buddy or Bobby Payton would be a for sure way to get solid information on the Democrats

    Re: Democrat Bloodlines

One of the best cross that was set into a strain..

In the Philippines there are alot of democrat breeders..

    Try to inquire from the following breeders;

    1. Mayor Juancho Aguirre and Mark Aguirre
    2. Dr. Rudy Ordoyo
    3. Henry Yap
    4. Nene Araneta
    5. Boy Diaz
    6. Boy Lobaton
    7. Plaza's of Agusan Del sur
    8. Raymond Velayo (Arnis Master entry)

Great Cutting birds with very good fighting style (brainy)..

They just dance and wait for the opponent to make the first mistake

    Sir thaGamest,

Correction with the composition.. Its not 3/4 hatch - 1/4 claret but 5/8 Hatch (Mclean) 3/8 Claret (griffin).. so they say.. But i believe that during the grading a drop of black blood was infused and this is manifested by the dark eyelids that most democrats have..

    Hope this helps..

    Cheers!!

Thanks for sharing guys. Since there's a lot of breeders of this line, how come I never had a chance to see one in action ( big time derbies ) Mr. Ari Ben Tan, who among these 8 famous breeders do you think carry a formidable line or have the best of them all. Very important to know.......

    Re: Democrat Bloodlines

Ray Alexander sent us some a couple of years back..solo second in the World Slasher (the year liza galore or mulawin won not too sure)..fought the winners in the next world slasher and scored 5 1/2. Bred the winners to some spangle hens and the cocks won 2nd in Cavite Int financed by Dennis Roldan...those hatches could really cut and were great for LK cause of their off beat style got many multiple winners from the shipment and their offspring. Sadly never got to seed the pure cocks only have 1/4 of the blood now.
