    Iron Supplement

    Doc Teddy,

What do you think about giving iron supplements to roosters being conditioned. Just wondering if this is beneficial. Thanks & more power to you!

    Re: Iron Supplement

doc ted is it ok to mix iron to b 12 vit?coz one of the seminars I"ve attended the speaker who is also a vet med tought us to use reblofer iron mix to belamyl with a ratio of .2ml reblofer and .5ml belamyl for one shot only. I dont try this coz I think this is too much for a rooster

    Re: Iron Supplement

    Hi Guys,

I would like to share my thoughts although the question is directed to doc teddy.

Last year I spoke with a general practitioner doctor whom is a friend of mine and inquired about the benefits of iron supplement. he mentioned that....

"Iron is important for muscle protein. It boost the body's energy level and as a result will improve physical performance".

Then we brainstormed in the amount of injectable iron that will be given to my gamefowls and we came up with the idea of providing 0.20ml every 5 weeks as additional supplements for my fowls. I started providing iron on my stags since they reached 5 months. I think it is working pretty well and the stags are responding quite good with the supplement. I was cautioned not to give excessive as it is also not good for their health if given too much. We noticed that there's an added strength on the stags which is very visible during spar. my stags are stronger than those i have from my previous breeding season...at 6 1/2 months they spar like they are matured fowls and their blows are solid...couple of my friends who watched the spar said that they looked like they were raised from high lands because they hit like bullstags at young age (6.5 months).

let's still wait from doc tjt regarding his input...

    cheers!

    sir filamforks,

if you bought doc tjt's conditioning book specially the superceded version. you will find that Jectofer is in his 21-day keep. During my travel in both canada and usa I inquired regarding jectofer and the cost for a jectofer 2ml ampule package is $64 CAD and the equivalent in US for Jectofer is $48 USD for that 2ml. The said Iron Injectable is of Human Grade and not for veterinary purposes. Jectofer is not available in the Philippines during the time of our inquiry to purchase.

I think with the new book he included the alternative or its counterpart in Philippine Market.

    fyi and regards,
