    Re: leiper type chickens

i find a good line of leipers to be the most atheletic of all the hatch families .. they and a good family of mcleans .. careful with them though, as good as they are, they are still hatches and tend to be overly aggressive at times .. but they're a solid line of birds i'll say that much.

    my two cents ..

Gen-gen Arayata used 4 leipers and 2 leiper crosses last 2008 WSC I all won including 2 doms to bag the crown. his leipers are from Rat Graves. Take note...he used 2 year old cocks except for the 1 dom so this means Rat's Leiper is good.

it is rare/difficult to find a good hatch family with excellent breaking ability.i haven`t owned /acquired yet rat graves leiper hatch but some says rats leiper have breaking ability.that is the reason maybe why they nick in crossbreeding to produce longknife battlefowl.

kadalasan kasi sa mga hatch na labas ay puro pang ibaba/manlulupa ang laro.power shuffling ........you hit me i hit you back type.

high action hatch is one type of hatch that have good breaking ability.....they go up vertical too.bro joey lacson is currently experimenting rats leiper with his high action hatch.2 types of hatch with breaking ability bred together.

question to those who acquired leiper hatch from rat and crow graves

do both brothers have same body conformation breeding standard?
parang slender type yung mga bini breed ni rats........
at broad back naman yung mga bini breed ni crow.

    tama ba?

doggs you plan on getting the ratts get them if you can honestly some of the best consistent fowl youll ever own my dad and his partner were gifted with these fowl in 1994 the ratts were fought under the delta entry and these fowl were fought by a harry muguiness and chet widdley they swept new mexico dominating derby after derby in short knife and gaffs we aquired a stag of ten brothers which were sent by ratt to harry muguiness for the price of ten grand thats a thousand a stag guess what they all won we bred a brother of these year later won a 4 cock solo in jal under the ten speed entry with mr johnny sedillo his wife and my dad these stags were 9 month olds into cocks we later obtained 3 pullets from ratts brother crow and bred them straight very awesome fowl they were stolen and we had nothing of this line there after at this time ratt did not sell brood fowl of any sort only after a few years then now you see the ratts being sold as pure from my understanding ratt has mclean in his fammliey for years the leiper that hes famous for came from jimmy east junior and the penny hatch from george foster who got them from mr tom dale i love these roosters they have solid bodies and good temperment the penny leipers are good too hope you get em bro aloha roland hayashi
