    Deepkut,
Everytime I pay Mr. Sears a visit... he never fails to mention that gravedigger which he calls the original Sandy Hatch blood. He always mentions that those Sandy Hatch line for three generations now has been producing one fly one kill trait.
Hope you can share more about J. Sears fowl.... it's different when you hear from testimonials than hearing it from the man himself. lol.

Alex-G, I have a few pics of the Bostons but Im not sure how to post them. I will try to get my wife to help me when she gets home. I dont know who all has Scotty Taylors bloodlines, but I do know that Mr. Taylor and Mr. White were close freinds because I was gifted a broodcock of Mr. Taylors that was a gift from Mr. White and have spoken to Mr. White about this since. I was also told that there was a brass back cock at Mr. Taylors when he past away that came from Dr. Herring, so I think they were freinds to some degree. Mr. Scotty Taylor was a great person and had many freinds so there could be alot of people that have some of his fowl. I will try to post pics later, wish me luck! !!!!!!!!GOOD LUCK GOD BLESS !!!!!

Re: All roads lead to... Boston RH ?!

the story i read about boston rh is diferent from the story mentioned here that some ugly looking peacomb chicken arrived at boston port and were unclaimed in months so it was brought home by a worker and breed them thus the boston rh was born so i guess nobody realy knows the make-up of a real boston rh

Have these 3 RHs which I observed having distinctive traits...
Bostons are agile, Dan Grays are accurate and strong punchers, while Hugh Normans are very cautious...

    is that a sales pitch..or a fact..........hehe
it can be 200 or 300 years old
but the most important is.........the line is still winning at present
    that`s what counts

Are they having a tea party that's why they are up here in Upstate NY? hehehe. Just kidding. I would say a few hours more and you'll be in Massachussets. Just ask the red necks up there and they'll show you where Boston is.

    Re: boston roundheads???????????

I had a bud that ordered some Boston Rh's from John Sears about 25 years ago... he raised a bunch & we tested some in his back yard... they were not game... but... they'd kill 3 or 4 birds before they quit, they killed em quick too. He had also crossed them to his Hugh Norman Rh's & we never lost a fight with them. He kept the Bostons because of their abitity & the fact that they crossed so well with the HN Rh's.

    Re: boston roundheads???????????

I had the Boston's from Sears way back in the 70's. Got them from a man who got them in the late 50's or early 60's. Game as cocks come and deadly cutters. But not real fast fought more like a whitehackle. But like a dumb ass I let them get away and stayed with my regular family of roundheads. Now there is a guy who has some great bostons but he wont let any go for love nor money. Talked to him this morning matter of fact. He did cross some with some Lacy's and those are great fowl also. Im getting three or more, 3/4 lacy and 1/4 boston pullets from him later on in the year. He writes for the magazines and has been in this game for over 50 years. But like I said he wont let any of the roundheads go. Most of you know Ronole Morris Im sure. Ronole has had these Bostons for soooo many years now and Ive never known him to let any pure ones out. They are the standard Bostons, yellow legs, peacomb, light colored reds (almost lemon hackled) some white in wings and white streamer tail..

Hi Slipspur and Irishcut - Thank you for your input - so in short the boston and whitehackle from Sears is not as good as what we expect????? Aside from Hugh Norman roundhead crossed that nick to Boston roundhead. any other breed that can be crossed to Boston and whitehackle? Thanks
