check the picture I just posted and the picture previously posted with lemon hackle. They are the same cock but the last pic posted taken 12/11/12 is not fully molted mostly probably the lemon color hackle will show when he is fully molted. When in doubt about this cock give Mark a call. Thanks

I believe 100% beyond the shadow of a doubt that if you got the rooster from mark, and he told you that he is a butcher than I believe he is...I believe mark too be an honest man, and have no reason too doubt him...he sent me a beautiful broodcock sight unseen

    Thanks for any info!
Very seldom, when in-breeding real close, I'll get a yellow leg one, not very often.
I got 1 yellow leg pullet last season, first one in a few years, I call them throwback from the Spanish blood put in them many years ago.

Kurt, you better get those brooder's set up Son,
Seem's everyone wants Butcher's all of a sudden, we don't have enough to go around.
The only Yellow Leg one we have is called for. I really wanted to keep her too, maybe we'll get another one this time!!!
See you tomorrow, I have a Phillipino friend coming to visit our farm tomorrow, bet he freezes his ass off, he'll be ready to go back to California when he see's how cold it is.
I told him that's what makes our Roosters so tough, gota be tough to stand this $hit, hehe....
Think I'll go back with him, leave you, and Jr. here to fight this cold weather.
    See you tomorrow,
    Ernest

He's one of my old in-bread Butcher's. He looks just like the first one Big Red gave me 50 years ago. Iv'e got 3 brothers but he has the most white, looks more like the old ones.
    Thank's,

Those in the photo are Straight Comb, & White leg, but some come Pea Comb to. I breed back to the Straight Comb to get more of them, I like the Straight Comb's best.

I think they got them from the man himself...a long time ago.
since they are of the old rich (I keep saying rich) as it was only
the rich who could import fighting fowls those days...
Now, a days anyone can... I stand corrected here but I think
they are the only ones who still has smokey wallace fowls in
the pi and they do not sell...

When my Grandfather found out another breeder had fowl he called Butcher Boys they changed the name to simply Butchers. Reason being that was my Great Grandfathers profession.
