Thank you.
The late Mami Lacson infused the BBB to his maclean blueface blend which is called the Hi-Action Hatch... His son Mr. Joey Lacson can tell you more ( +639189792767 )... though, it is said to be somewhat diluted in the line...

extreme_j : mang ben rara's blueface hatch line came from nato lacson of bacolod.. i'm not so sure if they are baumgardner... he has the speckled hatches from oscar akins, which he tells me is one of the gamest hatch strains out there according to bill baumgardner.. that was the only reference he gave of him..
but i might be wrong

Re: Bill Baumgardner Blueface Hatch
What I remember the most about Bill Baumgardner's Hatch fowl were their heart. These birds did not want to go down I swear. His fowl were shown around here some time ago when a fellow who used to frequent the shows were getting his birds from Mr. Baumgardner and Mr. Roy Gibson ( when they were partners ).
On another note, I always thought that Mr. Baumgardner's Blueface family were similar to that of Mr. Mel Sims'. They weren't your typical ( at least in my opinion ) short stationed, big headed, bulky, and gung-ho type Hatch. Theirs were nicely and athletically built pretty birds.
Also, very nice pics Engkanto. Those are as nice a rooster I've seen in a while.
just my two cents ..

Engkanto : nice pics!
maybe it can be related to what i posted earlier up on this thread, that bill baumgardner really likes his speckled hatches. maybe he crossed the 2 families together and bred the speckled hatch blood out and did this the same way with the blueface family to maintain them.
if i could, i would purchase the speckled/spangled one
beautiful, just beautiful fowl.

Re: Bill Baumgardner Blueface Hatch
Thanks for the nice comments guys. How I wish these are mine. I only got half of that BB Blueface blood (BF-Grey cross given as a gift). I lost my only straight BF broodcock 2 months ago when one of my YLH stag (my avatar) got loose from the tiecord and killed my old BF cock and another stag on cord.
P'reng archangel, you're probably right. Maybe he's a throwback to BB's speckled hatch. Do you happen to know what speckled/spangped hatch BB used to breed? I saw some spangled leipers that look like this one but are darker red. My friend was really surprised with this speckled BF. He's been breeding these BB Blueface for years and this was the first time he got a speckled offspring. We hope he will do good for next month's show.
Thanks,
Engkanto

engkanto : really beautiful specimen of the speckled. wowowee. i cant recall if ive read something about the speckled hatches bill used.. a name pops up in my mind, gerrard? but i think gerrard's is the spangled? or are they the speckled? argh, hahaha things are already jumbled up in my head. but ive once read or heard an allusion to BB's and gerrard's.. can't exactly remember what though..
calling on our american friends who might know more about these speckled hatches that bill baumgardner breeds.. please post
