    Mang Danny,

we got the Green-legged Oakgroves from Boy Diaz in 2002. Boy D said he had to use the right connections to get the good ones from J and J. He said it was so hard to get an authentic Oakgrove Hatch anywhere let alone the Philippines but was happy to sourced it from Mang Joe Alimbuyugin and Mr. Jun Vera. He said the duo were really close to Gene Brown.

Sana nga ok lang bumisita sa kanila to check out their fowl and of course chicken talk.
I just realized lately that J and J's Yellow-legged Hatch is no different from the famed Stuart Yellow-legged Hatch of the Browns that went to the likes of Johnnie Jumper, Carol and even Dink.

Do you remember a young guy by the name of RENE inaanak ni Tata JUN & Joe from Pngga. he had bought tons of good chickens just wondering how he is now... are you living in Japan now & off in SABONG for now? Hi Dom kamusta? I'm glad that the Oak Grove hatches work well w/ you guys... A little correction they were not really close to Gene Brown it was only Tata Jun who has all the Patience in the world to WRITE BACK & FORTH TO THE OLD MAN until HE sense that it's time to go so boom, coz Gene is not an easy guy to deal with lots of big time attitude. Then later sometime (forget the year) Joe visited Oakgrove but didn't purchase coz he said it is no longer the same as before. Did you ever have the chance to meet & mingle with TATA JUN??? If not you MISS a lot (he's one hell of a guy ) about your visiting DANNY's farm I don't think it is a problem. YES of course the STUART of J & J farm is the same BECAUSE they came directly from OAKGROVE farm and to add to the recipe I went in OCT. & DEC. of 2007 to BLACKWATER to get some trios of the STUART YLH to refresh their old YLH. Dom are you in P.I. now or are you base in US??? nice chatting w/ you danny,,, keep in touch

Sana nga paguwi ko I can get a chance to meet Mang Jun. Yes I have heard of Gene Brown having an attitude, in fact it was pretty first hand. He corrected me in one of the threads by saying Carol can't have them Stuart's pure as he only got a cock from him . . .

I am in San Jose, CA Mang Dan. But going home this January 2010. Ako isang sakay lang PI na mas malayo ka ng kaunti (5 oras yata). I just am in touch with my friends almost every week kaya fresh ang perspective ko. I was dragged here by my wife in 2004 so I hung up my sabong career until I met some friends here who are from Obando. Baka nakakalaban mo pa sila if you guys fought in Delmonte & All-Star. My friend Dodo Bautista fed for the likes of Bombay and Capitan Tino. My roots are from Malabon but grew up in QC as we moved when the tides came with the development of Dagat-dagatan.

Hi Dom,Hope so too but I'm afraid not coz Tata Jun hardly drop by the farm nowadays although HE owns it.I'm sorry but I don't know your friend DODO, and when you say Bombay is this the family KHAN who has good GRAYS??? and talking about Kapitan Tino I'll never forget this men happy go lucky always on the go. He buys chickens in the farm & sometimes FINANCE it there was a time that I like the selection that we are going to give him so nagprisinta ako kay Tata Jun na I'll be the one to feed & condition this 4 cock derby & the day comes & Kap. T. saw me HE was so happy & can't believe that I'll be there & to his surprise ako pa ang nagbitaw but no luck 3 win 1 loss but made good in money, but don't you tell me na buhay pa ang matanda until now? I remember Kap. T. he loves PULLETS and if you past 21 you are consider HEN hehe I guess that his secret in keeping his youth. GOOD OLD MEMORIES ARE HARD TO FORGET salamat sa iyo.. Last summer I was in Dampalit twice and saw Mang Mario Siochi didn't bother to talk to him but was so shock to see his house (used to be a great one ) bulok na & Alex told me na medyo giba na daw si Mang Mario sorry to hear that. Yes we used to fight in Del Monte during the time of VICE. malakas pa rin ba ang Del Monte I heard si Arman Santos daw ang may hawak. talk to you later,,, nice chatting w/ you dan c.

Yes Mang Dan, Bombay is Mang Imen Khan. Ang saya naman ng sabong talaga dati! 21 y/o na bebot hen na putsa madalas yata sa Marilao at sa McArthur yan si Kapitan Tino dati ah - mabigat ang selection. I never got to meet them I just relied on my friend's stories and fond memories of his sabong days. Ikaw ba taga-Marilao ka din ba?

Yes sad to say Don Mario has been down and hard on luck for sometime now. They are distant relatives on my Mom side of the family but they are close to my Mom as she served as their pediatrician. We used to live by Concepcion but the rest of the family relocated to Navotas.

Balita ko malakas pa din sa Del Monte I have never been there though! I fought 2 cock ulutans and a 3 cocker here and there at upper Bulacan - San Rafael, San Miguel though we won once at Valenzuela (Malinta). Paguwi ko nagschedue na kami ng laban sa Pampanga pero definitely I will fight in Del Monte for the 1st time.

Hi Dom the Khan are they still fighting? hehe no hindi mahilig si Kap. T. dyan sa Marilao & McA. yung mga malinis na disente kasi nga may PERA kaya sa hirap ng buhay pumapatol. Well for me of course mas masarap noon but I'm sure you young generations FEEL the same good experience kaya lang during our times Cockers are different in a way kasi big deal na sa amin pag dayo ka medyo iba ang dating & remember hindi maraming cockpit not like now puede kang tumae maski saan hehe.. before it takes a lot of experience & connection before you could acquire GOOD BLOOD not like today WE have INTERNET very EASY to get GOOd blood ...

When you fought in San Rafael si Jeesie Viceo pa ba ang nagpapa-sabong? curious lang ako... good luck sa mga laban mo but I heard from Jojo (bro. of Dan A.) ang lakas daw ng laban sa Pampangga if you bet heavily I thing this is the place to go coz hindi masyadong matigas ang manok not like DEL MONTE daming Tulisan... Thanks for keeping me updated. have a lot of things to remember take care dan c.

    Re: JOE ALIMBUYIGIN

Hey thanks for the reply Mang Dan! I think the old man Khan have long passed away. Kuya Doods (Dodo Bautista) says no one from the family picked up the hobby from him.

You are right about the good blood being scarce back in the day. I was 8 almost 9 y/o when my dad asked me to watch over our roosters fight in a 3 cock that was how I got my start. My father tagged along Agustin Uy, Boy Diaz and Sonny Lim as he represented them in their legal stuff. I just can remember Agustin's farm in Antipolo at any given time I think they have 400-500 corded cocks from Don Ramon and imported ones from Harold Brown and Bull Run. And they were all purchased! Ang lakas talaga ng logging dati! Boy D had all the good imported lines but could just not hang on to them. That was why I frequented Biboy's farm on Zuzuaregui back in the 80's, because my father was really tight with Boy D.

About the Siochi's yup magaganda yung mga anak ni Don Mario. I attended the wedding of the youngest daughter back in 1996 yata. We weren't really acquianted pero dahil sa Mommy ko sinabit kami. Teka nga Mang Dan taga-Malabon ka din ba o ano???

I fought a 3 cocker in San Rafael but Mayor Jesse wasn't there anymore. The son was running the show. After Mayor Jesse lost the mayoralty and the jueteng operations to the comebacking Carding Silverio they were never the same. Wala na sila sa limelight! Dati in the 90's and early part of 2000's he had all of nene Abello's aces - they were almost unbeatable.

No I am not a big bettor minimum lang mahirap magbayad ng mortgage eh! I invest in breeding stocks as I enjoy the breeding side of sabong. I don't mind buying good materials but will never bet more than what I can handle. Buti nga I met my Tarlac friends as they showed me the way on cockfighting kundi pulot-pulot lang tayo. I enjoy the gruelling demands of the sport - I tried to learn pointing on my own but am a lousy handler. Buti na lang marami nakukuhang handler sa Pinas.

Subukan lang namin sa Malabon kasi that's what I heard masikip daw and taga-roon talaga tayo. My friend is pretty competitive and he says it's fine by him. Sanay naman yung partner ko sa laban ako lang ang beginner at mambubulok. We'll see how it goes magpapalugon muna tayo. nice chatting Man Dan!

Hi Dom, NOOO, I konw you're going to ask that but no sabong just brought me there coz during that time Dampalit was know for heavy betting & so am I that time ( young & no family to take care)if you know what I mean. Besides that I have a good friend that is also in fingerlings like Mang Mario his name is HERBERT LAUREL. Your father has one of the good connection that time, you mention one of my favorite guy AGUSTIN UY men he had almost all the Acesof the late Don Ramon hindi ko namention sayo before the return of Tata Jun Don Ramon is one of my source, but most of the time I give time to go up in the mountains of Bacolod as I told it's harder to scout before than now... today you turn on your computer, scout, ask question, then pick up the phone boom You got you trio .

I have to go but will reply more dan. c.

Hi Dom, my weekend is good but busy coz I'm planning to bring my whole family to Canada (Quebec & Montreal) for 10 days we're leaving on Monday... What about you how's yours??? Ilan na ba ang anak mo??? Anyway saan ba ako naputol? ah kay Jessie Vceo as you were saying hindi na sya ang may hawak ng San Rafael about his son di ko na sya inabot but I can tell you that the late Mang Naning Viceo was the real Deal sya ang nagppapa-takbo ng then Marilao cockpit then he transfer it to Jessie. Ang ganda magpa takbo ni mang Naning madalas nakakasa maski malaki ang pusta. by the way have you ever heard Herbert Laurel in Malabon just want to know what happen to him? Ano naman ba ang mga ginagamit mo mga materiales??? It's getting late I need to pack my stuff. Update me in some event. talk to you when I come back... dan c.

wow you really go a long way back Mang Dan! Sorry I am not familiar with Herbert Laurel. Di na din kasi ako lumaki sa Malabon as I was to be 7 y/o when we left for QC in 1980. Though my Mom still keeps a clinic at Tonsuya even up to now.

I saw Mayor Viceo fight after Erap has gone and regular bets go for 220 & 330k. I heard during the days of UCAP will bet 1.1mio on a regular basis. Yun ang magandang labanan dati yung UCAP where the likes of Boss Danding, Richard Bates, Esting Teopaco and the old boys played. It was there that Sonny Lagon also made his name.

Right now we tinker with Sweaters from Dink we have the $5,000 line and a Possum strain he calls the Cash line. I've mentioned I got Kelso's from Biboy which are Johnnie's. Also have Dan Gray Roundheads and Bob Cuenca Lemon blood from Firebird. This year I got some Hatch (Hi-action) and Grey blood from Joey Lacson. I acquired a Blake Grey from Dink in 2006 we bred it for a season before it died as it was afflicted with Marecks. Of course we still play around with the Oakgrove but in limited amounts now.

My friend Reggie breeds around 200 stags during the season and still has some off-season breeding. He has a modest-size farm that keeps our passion burning! We fight in the Tarlac circuit called GBAT and are members of Bakbakan. But I guess this year we are focusing on the Rambulan as they have a more attractive prize not to mention that we got turned off by the annoying antics of the Bakbakan core group.

    Enjoy your trip in Montreal!

    Oakgrove nuts,
    I remember when I visited j&j farm this is about 1999 -2000 ...
They sparred this greenlegged chicken to their neighbor Henry tan...first buckle I was surprise bcoz Henry tans cock passed out sa lakas ng palo...hinimatay sa lakas ng palo...that was my first time to see such strong chicken....and they call this van dam line...which they don't sell...and seldom show to visitors...I can't forget that breeder Joe alimbuyugin and Danny Arruejo ....

    Hi there hollywood,

yeah tama nga they call it Van Damme wow galing naman! Tutuo sakit nila mamalo plus they are deep game. Dami namin nanalo from behind. I wouldn't be able to acquire this blood if not for Boy Diaz I don't even think I can get a feather from J&J.

    Mang Dan,

nakabalik ka na ba from Montreal? Marami bang Canadien doon? Kwento naman.

Hi Dom, how are you? I just got back from Quebec, Old Quebec & St. Anne de Beaupre it was so nice & lovely that I almost traded IT for my lovely NY city but of course NY is NY as they say... yes maraming Canadien kaya lang di kami magka-intindihan kasi yung bunso ko lang ang marunong ng French hehe they hardly speaks english there but if you have the chance it's one place to SEE... Saan tayo naputol, ah yes it's been too long to remember but Jessie V. is really a hard bettor nagrupo pa kay Obet & Joseng Divisoria lalo ng lumakas. I didn't know that you have a heavy arsenal of Bloodline yourself(dami mo maganda linya) need to go... LATER

Sige nga Mang Dan mapuntahan nga ang MOntreal. We were thinking about going next year. My uncle in Boston has been egging us on to go. So maraming eye-candy? Di ka naman nahuli ni Misis na nagmamasid sa magandang tanawin?

I have a question Mang Dan. Sabi mo kumuha ka ng Stuarts kay Chris Nesmith, did you have to go down to Alabama or pinadala na lang sa iyo mga manok? Do you think I need to go there myself or pwede kayang maasahan si Chris at Carol sa pinapadala. Si Biboy kasi hindi daw nagustuhan ang pinadala.

    Have a great weekend!

YES, I went to Alabama 1st in Oct. 2nd in Dec. both of 2007> I was just planning to order by phone but since this is going to be a GIFT to Pareng D. I thought of going there & choose what I think suits him(pre dan)by the way the 2nd trip are for Alex Tang he saw the 1st shipment & like it & ask me a favor if I could go down again to pick for him... Ordering by phone is a hit & miss coz I heard a lot of newbies who had the luck of getting good ones & big guys like Biboy who didn't like what he got. (For me) if Money is no object I'll definitely GO.If you're going to ask me about the offsprings, the GUYS are all smile. I'll send you a PM later. ciao & have a great weekend. ARE YOU PLANNING TO PURCHASE SOME BLACKWATER FOWL????

Yes Mang Dan pang-infuse sa Sweaters namin tsaka pang-cross na din. I've gotten in touch with Carol through this website. I realized that dealing with Oakgrove Farm will be an uphill battle especially his price is a little off my budget- $1,500 for a trio. Dink may have the Stuarts pero still it is Blackwater that made them famous.

I cannot say that money is not an object siguro everyone would just want a bang for their buck! A fair return for my investment is what I am looking for. Layo din kasi ng 'Bama medyo mahal din pasahe maghohotel pa so it all adds up! I wanted to get to get your feedback.

    Enjoy the weekend!
