    R. A. Thomas Asils ???

Cockmates, I saw his advertisement in Gamecock magazine about his Asils and it seems like he has nice Asils. Does anybody on this site know this guy and tried his birds? Are they good for grading for the longknife?

Any input or comments is greatly appreciated, Thanks!

They aren't steel game when pure, but if you cross them the crosses are pretty damn good!

I didn't say anything abotu cold blood. You asked if his asils are "steel" game. Asils are a naked heel bird and not the best for fighting in the LK, SK or gaff unless you cross them up with something else.

Checkout Paul "NiteOwl" Hulin's Potato Asils. I believe at 6 months he sells it for $200 a piece. Go to www.niteowlsupplies.com

Reliable sources say that R.A. has never tested a single rooster in competition in his life.

    Dear Sir,
Normally I do not respond to gossip and nonsense, but I will make an exception this time. I have had roosters my whole life (50 yrs.) and I have won many derbys in many different states. In 1981, we won 3 derbys in as many states in a single weekend. 1984, we won cocker of the year in Virginia, at a game fowl club. The Sonatols which are the subject of this conversation, had their best day 8 years ago at Sunset, Louisiana, winning 14 straight, with 0 losses. 1/2 Sonatol and 1/2 Democrat. The most recent best day for the Sonatol crosses, was 3 yrs. ago in Mexico. 1/2 Sonatol, 1/2 Kelso, won 19, drawed 2 and lost 1 at the state fair there. The wins of these Sonatols in my hands and the hands of others would fill a book. Sir, these events were witnessed by hundreds of people. Their record speaks for theirself. Please feel free to list the accomplishments of your fowl for all to see. Truth please, no hear say, no opinion, only facts! Thank you, R. A. Thomas
Because of recent laws, I am no longer active, but my fowl, especially the Sonatols are of the highest quality! Thank you

    Dear Sir,
In 1979, I purchased a pair of Kulang Asils. The price then was $1500 for the pair because I wanted the best of the best! In 1979 I was working as a truck mechanic making $4 an hour, so if you do the math, to sell the same Asils now for the same price would mean you would have to triple what I paid as most people make 3-4 times now the wages they made back in 1979. That would mean a trio would cost $6600 if you paid now the equivelant to what I paid then. If you want cheap chickens, they're out there. You can waste decades breeding below average fowl and you will always be below average in your outcome. Sincerely, R.A. Thomas

I am 13 miles from Sunset Club and have seen his 1/2 Sonatols work and they are really good!
A old family friend raised Charles Floyd Sonatols for crossing on his natural heel and he was one of the toughest to go against.
