    Re: doc robinson hatch

From what I experienced, Doc Robinson/Oakgrove/Gene Batia GL hatches are generally peacomb. Straight comb comes very rare and if you breed the SCs back offsprings will be peacombs. They are ugly, mean looking and have short tails. And yes they hit like..........Van Damme!

The proving is still ongoing and so far it has been good crossing it with a green legged grey and now with a lemon 84. I'm curious also and hope someone will share their successful crosses of doc r.

Does anyone have any suggestions of how to cross these doc hatch hens i have?

I have four pure Doc Robinson hatch hens. Very aggressive hens. big spurred and pea combed. They came from a guy named bill nall. Just wondering how on earth to cross them this spring. they are starting to law pretty regular and would love to hear some suggestions

I did real good with some Wingate/Doc crosses a few years back. So if you have a Wingate rooster, try that.

get a good roundhead and single mate with one, a good black, single mate, a good sweater, single mate and then a grey, single mate. see what you get and what you like out of them and then concentrate on that the year after..

Based on the Docs I have seen ... They should cross well on anything if not fighting straight even.

Doc Robinson hatches has a lot of power I've tried mine to gene batia sweater cock and it's a good result for a pi show, for American show, i'm not sure you might wanna consider him crossing to any power cock you can think of...

    Certain Doc Robinson Hatch

I was looking at getting some Doc Robinson Hatch again. the Doc's we had were green legged, Pea comb, High stationed Roosters. Years ago we originally got them from Louisiana, but I have no idea how to locate them again. Does anyone have an idea who may sell these type of Doc's I am describing?
    Thanks
    Bob
