I was just poking fun a little,I heard that L/K roosters in the U.S. don't fight the same style as roosters bred in the Philippines??In the US you need one that will out break the other top him and take him to the ground shaking doing most of the fighting in the air.Roosters in the Philippines have to fight very SMART setting up the other rooster and shooting in when the opportunity arises killing his opponent using his smarts.I don't know this I was told it takes a different style rooster to win in the L/K in the Philippines????Thats why I love that Doc Robinson ock I bought He will break 8 feet evry time I turn him loose scoring in the air really well.......Coldsteel

True. But to top a rooster, your bird doesn’t necessarily have to fly 8 feet. I like a rooster that flies just 3-4 inches higher than the other … be it eight feet or eight inches. Just my theory of relativity.

He talked highly of what he calls flat backs....i think its a kelso yellow leg hatch crosss....

I've got some Doc Robinson Kelso brood fowl that come from Mr. Vance about 5 years ago. The brood cock was never showed but has produced a 6 time winner. The ones I have are aggressive fowl. I'll take a picture of a stag that was raised out of my brood cock this year and post it.

i wouldn't count on anything from j.f. vance's yard to NOT be cold...

8 years ago or today, either one...

i owned some of his personal broodfowl at one time, kelsos included. i will say this, his clarets are the rankest cold blood of the two.

not trying to stir anything up, just giving my experience with the post oak "doc kelsos".

The Docs from vance have always been good to me. A few of my friend have them and they all like them. They have brought home several blue ribbons around here. Maybe we just got lucky and got the good ones.

they are plenty aggressive and throw enough feet to handle time limit shortknife. there is no doubt about that.

i don't doubt you any. i'm happy you good fowl.
