nakow bro Rolei, kaganda ng Damascus...but may kamahalan.
baka gusto mo rin subukan to:
a. pili ka ng low chromium tool steel na makapal. a thick power hacksaw blade will do
b. have it forged to near 1/16" thickness
c. dry the steel..dapat walang bahid ng oil or grease or thumbprint man lang
d. dip the steel in a solution of 25% water and 75% ferric chloride.
ferric chloride is readily available in ANY electronic supply store. it is used to make PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARDS (PCB) and a bottle can be bought for less then Php 30...
e. 1 to 2 second dip will do...then rinse the blade thorougly with water. the steel will turn dull in color. WIPE it dry and apply a light coating of oil. you will see the grain pattern from the forging
its not damascus but baka magustuhan mo
by the way, i use the water-ferric chloride solution to take away the glare from a shiny knife....it might give your bird an advantage expecially during nightime derbies....
well just in case you want to bring back the shine on your blade.
a quick dip in strong sodium hyrdroxide will do. as to where to find sodium hydroxide...just buy liquid SOSA from the grocery store...hehehe
