    Re: Mule Train Greys

Even if I bought these greys I don't believe I can achieve the same results as Lonnie Harper. Thats the problem with a lot of people. They think that by paying $1500.00 for these greys you will have instant success. Lonnie is doing great with these greys but Honestly don't believe that I will have the same success as Lonnie. At the most These greys in the hands of other people will just be average.

I was fortunite to have a partner who obtain them from Rick Beal (rjb gamefowl) my partner also bought a bunch of other trios and then kinda switch jobs so had to cut down. I was fortunite i was the first one he called and i got them they are pure as they get and im positive of that. just call Rick, Rick doesnt own any more he is not a grey man he loves his blacks but i like them because the dont look like ur typical grey. and i might be able to get some just pm me but there not off of gene

    Re: Mule Train Greys

I know Rocky Top & Gene Batia have Mule Train Greys... I have also mentioned the fact that RoundHead Man also has blood related to Lonnie's , as Hack Lauderdale received some Grey fowl from the same man as Lonnie, in fact it was Lonnie that hooked Hack up so he'd get some of these good winning Sweater Greys to add to his already successful C. Blackwell / Harold Brown family of Greys. ... So try anyone of the 3 if your looking for similar family bred Greys.

    Hi lurena,

Did you ever acquire any Mule Train Greys? If you did, who did you acquire them from? How have they turned out for you?

If you have not acquired any MT greys, which strain of greys do you breed? How do you lie them?

Hi lurena, you are right up to a certain point. When you order a young untested
pair or trio, on the phone or the internet, you are liable to get the best producing
individuals out of the year'scrop or the worst ones.

IMHO: Not even the Master Breeder knows if he is shipping out the most pre-potent
ones or the least pre-potent ones. If he single-mates @ matting, at least he will
learn later on how they turned out, if the buyer ever reports how their offspring are performing. This are some of the chances when ordering brood fowl.

Selection is the Key and each individual has its own system and ideas on this.

Some will get as good or better than expected, some will get otherwise. It is
usually the luck of the draw.

Just looking for information here. Trying to learn more about the Greys that came from Mr. Ed Batey.

    Thanks,

    You are right Don,

The Sweater Greys are Regular Greys, straight from Col. Madigin, their Originator.

Sweater Mc Guinnis was the Col. feeder & handler when the Col. passed away.

Sweater was in charge to execute the Col. will in regards to the Col's., game-fowl.

Sweater claimed to have kept only a few Regular greys, for himself, as he considered them the
best fowl at the place. He delivered the rest according to the Col's will, with the great majority (Clarets, Regular Greys & Texas Rangers) going to Walter Kelso & Bill Japhet and smaller #s going to other people.

All Sweater Greys and their sub-lines, like the Bob Bennett's, the W T Green's, the
Sen. Odem's and others, descend from the Col's Regular Greys. Some breeders like W T Green kept them straight all the way, others infused them with
something else to keep them going.
