Re: RED CELL VITAMIN
I use a soft feed mixture in the evenings when in the keep and I use red cell in the mixture. I use 6 handfulls of soaked oats with a teaspoon of powder electrolytes and a tablespoon of redcell in it. I divide this up between 6 cocks. It has always worked well for me. Be sure to provide plenty of water and some dry grain in the mornings to control the moisture though.

Re: RED CELL VITAMIN
I use 2oz for about a quart and Half Of grains stir it in so that it coats the feed well feed once a month. In soaked oats I put 1 Cup for 100# along with a gallon of ACV and fill with water every other time I put oats on.The times you mix it with the oats omit it from their feed. Hope this helps. YFIS

Re: RED CELL VITAMIN
Just remember a little goes a long way. You can poison your rooster if you give too much of it. I like to give it once a month diluted in water and than I pour on the yard feed.

Sir are you trying to poisin your rooster?
1 oz = 29.57 ml
you said you are giving 2 oz per cock that means 59.14 ml
it won't help coz you are poisoning your rooster

Just to remind you, if you are using too much red cell with your chickens it will absolutely poison them. Side effect: Blindness and weight deterioration.
I you are using the Red Cell in the Philippines, the mixture would be 5 tablespoon per gallon of water and if you buy the Red Cell in U.S the mixture would be different 1 tablespoon per Gallon.

Re: RED CELL VITAMIN
when mixing it for yard feed you just want enough to coat the feed. No more no less it works fine. I thought about going back to feeding in my regular feed. I quit using it for like 5 years.

To much Red cell is'nt good. I use to write a man by the name of Glen Duckworth, County Line. He use to write articles in the Gamecock. He sent me a packet of info. His direction for Redcell was put 1 1/2 in a gallon of water and then use 1 1/2 oz of this mix in each gallon;

Re: RED CELL VITAMIN
wouldn't it be better for the fowls if you just boils some liver, chop it up fine, then mix it with your keeps' feed? liver is full of vitamin Bs and iron... isn't that what's in red cell?

Nope, that's too much, the liver of your birds will get damage.
See Cocker 123's advise below.

Oh boy... I like to mix it in their feed because that's easier for me... What would be the right amount? 1 drop per rooster? Red cell bought in the States.

1-2 drops of the concentrate per week would be plenty to supplement the vitamins and minerals that your rooster is already getting from the feed he eats.
Dilute the concentrate at 1 tablespoon in a gallon of water and red cell will be easier on your rooster. Dampen your feed with it or let them drink it.
The iron, copper, cobalt in red cell are heavy metals. They work the liver pretty hard to filter and dissipate excessive amounts from the body.
Overdoses of heavy metals does more harm than good. They will take away from the harmonic balance you want in your roosters system.

So the guy who told Surfer808 to just "show" the rooster the red cell cap and "that's it" was right...
Ok thanks blackdeath for your help...
