    Re: slim benoist silver bullets

Has anybody aquired any fowl from Mr. Benoist recently; this year?
How would you compare the Silver Bullets of today to the Silver Bullets of say the 70s or 80s? Has the quality demenished in any way?

I heard recently that Mr. Benoist is in very poor health, please remember him in your prayers....

The man who used to help Slim Benoist breed those Silver Bullets is now back in Alabama. He moved back a couple of years ago. He said if anyone is seriously looking in acquiring those birds, he can help (for breeding and agricultural use only). His name is Chuck Norris (not the action star).

I would suggest buying directly from Mr. Benoist. He is in poor health & could use the money for medical expenses....

    Gents,

I just got off the phone with Chuck Norris and he said he has some pure Frank Steele Kelso stags (actually 7 full brothers / 5 WL and 2 YL) from Slim Benoist's yard. If interested give him a call (850) 896-2776.

Had a great visit from Chuck Norris (and his friend Toto) this morning. They drove over to be here around 7AM. My wife fixed all of us breakfast and we talked a ton about gamecocks before going out back to look mine over. Chuck selected an Albany pullet to take home and they hit the road back to the Dothan, Alabama area. Nothing better than talking gamefowl with folks that love them as much as the wife and I do.

    Hello Sir,

Toto is a good friend of mine. And yes, he said him and Chuck visited you last Saturday. He said a lot of good things about their visit and that very warm welcome you and your wife gave them and of course that hearty breakfast. He just called me this morning and he said he's on his way to Post Office to mail the WSC DVD he promised you.

    Regards,
    Edwin

    Edwin,

Not bragging here but my wife is "quite the cook". Seriously, I 'm glad they both enjoyed the visit. Chuck has been here before and serving up breakfast was the least we could do after they drove through the night just to get here that morning. I'm really looking forward to the WSC DVD. I might even see my ugly mug in it. I've made it over there for the WSC 3 times now (May 2009, Jan 2011 and Jan 2012). I tried to make it this January (2013) but my passport expired in less than 6 months and I didn't know that it had to be valid for 6 months to enter the Philippines. Where are you located Edwin ?

    Don,

You're lucky to have a wife who is not only a good cook but loves roosters also. Toto said he felt at home with your hospitality. You said you've been to PI 3 times so you probably experienced also the Filipino hospitality.

I live in NW Georgia, near the GA-TN stateline. Toto used to live in Chattanoga, TN before moving to AL and we used to visit neighboring gamefarms when he was still here. I was down in South Alabama 3 times the past years visiting Toto and some of our American breeder friends (Sam White, Jim Bond and Joe Lewis). You probably know these guys. Chuck was still in TX the last time I was there.

I'll probably meet you in person in the near future.

    yfis,
    Edwin

    Edwin,

I got the DVDs from Toto and will be sending him back one of my farm hats. I'll probably get it in the mail Monday. Next time you make it down to Alabama please have Chuck and Toto bring you over my direction.

He and Slim were good friends for years until the passing of Slim. Jerry is on face book under the name of Coach. He loves his Silver Bullets. I am sure he will be glad to talk to anyone that gets in touch with him.
