He's not a black, that's my Larry Romero Mclean hatch. but I do think he's pretty fast for a hatch.

    Re: Fastest breed

imo grades dont need speed. their timing makes up for that. i think they need aggressiveness and wings more than anything.

My Sid Taylor blacks are fast.
    My Black McRaes are fast.
As far as Oriental types the Peruvians are fast.
Sharing some pictures of my Sid Taylor stag single mated to a Black McRae-1/4 Peruvian pullet and their F1s.

they are small in size sir low station fowl, very quick and high flyers.

pure jungle fowl are not steel game so it must be graded to add gameness and size.

sweaters when they see gaffs coming... just kidding your sweater fans out there.

(i got a sweater stag to try out... he got in a bad pen fight... his legs were badly messed up, but not even a chip on his beek... a light came on: he didn't attempt a bill hold (or not much anyway)... so i nursed him back to his health and bred him... got some good looking 1/2-sweaters that will be 1 year old this June.)

I like the Hamlins Jerry told me they are Sonatol with a little Boles in them the ones from Edwin in Hawaii are faster than the ones come straight from Jerry and the Edwins are a little smaller. The Jerrys are larger stronger still fast for Asil I like to cross the two together to use in grading. I mentioned them in the other post if I remember right was Fastest most accurate or something like that which for me pushed the Hamlins to the top of my list.Their crosses are really good to my Gracils carry 1/4 Hamlin Blood and they carry a 70%+ blue ribbon.

    Re: Fastest breed

When evaluating for speed, look also for the quick reflex trait:

I believe it's in the bloodline like these Red Quills; SPEED birds. That's why Judge LACY infused his roundhead blood with them to add speed in the Lacy RHs .
