I'm not sure where or who he got them from but I know he used to show them in the LK but they can be shown in the sk. Very smart fowl they don't want to get touched

The best I ever saw and most consistent were med station WL Lacy type, not the crane stork rail type.

The RA RH/Carr RH were the WL Lacy and were awesome at one time, they were what I was used to seeing. Alot now are not the same, just like Sweaters. Both were medium station fowl at best and the RH straight could get on it and sustain at one time in the G. I dont know abt the RA Rh nowadays but if they are still the same or someone has maintained them like they used to be then thats a good source. Ive never had alot of run in with Gilliam RH, so cant speak on them but its all about what you seek in what your RH shld be. He sells a ton so to those customers they are more than sufficient.

I have both YL and WL and both are gentle. The WL tends to get more station as they age.

Got the parents to this stag from an old man out of West Virginia. He told me he breeds 3 separate brunners pens first is a light red one that resembles a Lacey, a dark red with white legs and the last a dark red slate legged as he calls it but there basically blue legged.

    Re: Best Roundheads?

Brent is the gentleman that gets his fowl from Larry - he's a straight up guy and I appreciate him for his blunt honesty. The other breeder is Bert Lester whom obtained his fowl I believe from Donald Fontenot of thee Timberlane Farm. Kevin Reece has an agreement with Bert and only sells his fowl abroad (none sold in the US). I was fortunate to acquire a trio of the Kevin Reece/Bert Lester Brunners through last years NCGBA Auction that he donated - i'm keeping my fingers crossed on them and hope they produce well for me.

As for the mating i intend on crossing an Easterling rooster over the Reece hens and the Reece rooster over the Easterling hen, and then mate those offspring to set my family, that's the goal anyway.

    Hello jacosta

Yes that is correct. On interview Tyler and his dad state they came from Larry Morris as well (If my memory is good, lol). So I guess they are similar. Hopefully your blend works out. As far as I know nobody has Bert's pure Bruner's but that could be also false as you mentioned that Kevin Reece has them.

    Re: Best Roundheads?

Bert & Kevin have an agreement they don't sell in the US - luckily i was able to obtain them thorough the auction. - Thank you, yes I'm hoping that blend works out - cool part is having both sides of that family to blend. Morris/Easterling & Lester/Reece Bruners. I'll be working with a buddy ToneTone559 - to get them going.

the saying is true - where obtaining fowl through friendships is the way to go - honestly had it not been for this website I'd still be like Helen Keller in a dark bumpin' my knees on everything ... lol ...
