Feed Prices going up
I went and picked up feed this morning and its went up again. I buy mine from co-op, they mix it local. It's called Rooster booster its 18% and a 50# bag cost $16.22. Seems like every two months it goes up. Whats everyone else paying right now and has it went up for you also?

Re: Feed Prices going up
I mix my on, but the price on grain itself is always up and down here. The only thing that stay`s close to the same is lay pellets. I was feeding a pre mixed feed until the price keep going up every week, like your talking about.

The prices always seem to be getting higher,at the co op I pick it up from the price for a 50# bag of feed is $24.99 and the gamebird pellets are now $26.99.These are the prices here in Hawai'i,the island that I live on.

Re: Feed Prices going up
My personal experience with co-op feeds is that its junk and full of bugs. Maybe its just the co-op I deal with. If your in TN I would try to find the Gamecock feed mixed in Loretta TN. Ive always used with good results and its about $13.25 per 50 lbs.

I live in east tn. too and have been buying feed that is hauled in from KY> by a guy that mixes for game chickens he has maintenance feed and a 9 grain conditioning feed. it is 16.00 for fifty of the cond. and 13 for fifty of the maint.feed. We have been mixing two of the maint. to one of the cond.feed. if you pm me I will find out where all he delivers in east tn. I think you will like it too.

if yall guys can drive to crossville tn i buy my feed there at bobs feed and i buy it in barrells if you got your own they will fill them up or sale you some barrells then you will have some to get feed the next time. but anyway i buy 18% rooster booster wit grit added and i bought 1960lb the other day and it was about $350 i think of top my head thats less than $10 a fifty pound.i usually get five barrells when i go and they average nearly 400 lb and its usually around $70 a barrell.

Re: Feed Prices going up
BIGG JOE whats the name of it and protein %? I used to get some out of Kentucky also but got tired of them being out at the store I got it from.
Kelsoroosters I got some from Crossville (Bobs Feed & Fertillizer) but it had to much whole corn in it for the summer, I liked it for the winter. It was 16% protein. The co-op brand I don't have a prob with bugs its just made in the next county over and is supper fresh. The smell reminds me of sweet feed. I'd say its the molasses in it I smell.

Re: Feed Prices going up
You boys in Tn have some good deals over there. Im paying about $14 a sack for simple 16% lay pellets and $12 a sack for hen scratch. A couple years ago they were both about $5 a sack cheaper.

I live just a couple miles from Arkansas, they have Blue Bonnet Gamecock and Gamecock conditioner at Hirsch Feed Store in West Plains MO. Not sure how far you are from there though.

You could always try Black Rooster, I know Hirsch sells it also, it's cheaper but not as good of quality in my opinion.

Re: Feed Prices going up
My area FRM puts out a good Gamecocock mix Gamecock conditioner and Gamecock Maintainence. I prefer the Conditioner as it doesnt have as much corn in it.Was paying $11 /50 for it it went up to almost $16/50 I dont carry as many extra breeders and clean up my walkups a little better.

I live in mexico so we pay for a mixture of grains about 20$.. for 33 kilos..the only thing thats goes up or down is the value of the dollar!! So if it goes down we spend more money but when it goes up well that another story.

Re: Feed Prices going up
17.85 for my custom mixed feed and thats getting a ton at a time. It sure beats the other comercial mixes and I really like it but its hurting my pockets. Guys from Hawaii if you get Leach feed you might want to start asking them to see if you can get some JCJFARMS mix so we all can get a better price. I know they sell a lot of high octane over there.
