    Re: Joe Redmond Greys

the ones i used to raise were game cutting gaff type fowl, they came light grey almost white, green legs and most came blackeyed.they could hold there own pure they were very inbreed, they were better crossed with good hatch type fowl to add some power.they originally were a blend of several grey familys and redquill perhaps someone could put up more history.they are still around southeast oklahoma somewhere.i lost my source for these.

the ones in Oklahoma that i had were cutters they cut every time they lifted a foot ,they were game to their dying breath .Back in the legal days of course.there negative traits were they very inbred and neded size and power.they croosed well on power type fowl.

    Joe Redmond Grey

Hello Im new to the game but i was given a Joe Redmond Grey pullet and also 2 Warhorse hens (From Beth Davis georgia) and a lacy Rh hen.. I have a Warhorse broodcock which is a 3x winner and my Sonny poe WL Kelso wich is a 4xwinner. them are the only two cocks i have which would be better crossed over to what? ALso what traits do these lines have expecially the Joe Redmond grey?

the joe redmons ive had are cutting chickens generally they need more station depending what your showing them in and more power i think i would try the warhorse cock rather than the kelso but you never know until you try good luck

    Re: Joe Redmond Grey

I agree with greyrooster. I would try the warhorse over the Redmond. How's Mr. Wayne getting along? Any fowl you get from the Davis' should be top notch. You should ask Mrs Beth if she has crossed the warhorse over the Redmond all ready. If not, she would know which way to go, and I would breed the warhorse cock over the warhorse hens and see how they turn out.

I have tried to but the broodcock just beats the shyt out of them.. I bought two warhorse hens and they are the most beautiful hens i have ever seen and the broodcock almost killed one them so i havent a clue how to breed them to get chicks.. The broodcock is a bacon warhorse
