Can a breed of fowl be kept strong with only 1 pair to breed with?

If you only are only able to have one pair of a certain breed, can you keep the breed going with just this pair? I am not the best when it comes to breeding. I know that you will want to breed sons back to the mother and daughters back to the father, but where do you go after that? I am not the brightest when it comes to breeding tactics. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Bobby

You can keep them strong..but not all offspring will be..some may suffer the so cold inbreeding depression..easy to see it in the chart but in reality you'll never know what will be the result of that certain mating.you may say it's a 7/8 or whatever but still as based on my experience in breeding, prepotency of a certain line plays a very big role in breeding..as my example is my late uncle's black line he calls as black bingham for over 40 years already if being recalled no 1/8 blood is running in my blacks now if based on figures but whatever it would be the offspring as long as blacks they are winning.bloodline and prepotent material.IMHO
