He may have seen or have a older blood line of Brown Reds. The old blood lines were not speed fowl they were hard hitting power birds.

    Re: MCRAE/BROWNRED

I have two vary good blood lines that I dont want to lose . I have a lot of crosses off this blood and ther good dont get me wrong . My oid mcrae cock finally died at thirtteen years old . I still have the orignal old pure hen and a pure son off her . Ive been line breediing these two together to keep some brood stock. Man I dont want to loose these old school mcraes . They cross great with my mugs . I have been line breeding the pullets back to the dad the mcrae cock . And the best stag back to the mom the mug hen . I was wondering from some breeders that's been in the game along time with experience of breeding game fowl how many times do I do this to get them pure again. And will they be just as good as when I first started . My grandfather liked them pure . There the chickens I grew up around.please can some one let me know. There to good of blood to mess up or breed it out of them.
