i have bruners most of my young stags carry a 1/4 or half got some 1/2 bruner 1/2 lacy i like real well.
Billy Abbott used the Lacy cross and red albany cross Jack Smith also used the red Albany crosses they did very well with them. J Lewis gifted me my Brood cock bought pullets from another friend who had some of JLewis Bruners and I got a stag from Dennis this year for a out Bird. Dennis is J Lewis step dad. they got their Bruners from Billy abbott over 38 years ago.-Jim
that is my main line red albany over bruner back when it was legal they were a pure joy to watch.i have a old hatch line power to spare but mean as a snake these albany are just as strong and gentle as a kitten.i should let the hatch go but i cant seem to bear to part with them
The Brunners I've seen are the most evasive birds, stay on the ground and are very accurate. Ask longheel about them. His grandfather still breeds them. They started out red but now are completely white and still are just as good as ever.
Offspring of those Bruners j007 spoke of in his post.
Dennis still looks the same Joe got more grey hair.Joe Dennis has had some good crosses with the 4webber Kelso,Hatch,Albany,WTGreen Grey and probably a few more cant think of right now-Jim
I have been told that the Brunners will throw a blue leg every blue moon. Is this true??? Cause I have some Brunners that are unreal and very nice. But I get a blue legged pullet every blue moon.
this is one of my Brunner RHs that we got from Mr. ken kincannon!! this one won for us in the LK and i do like them but they are a little on the smaller side!! jus trying to get the size up on them by using brunner blood from a friend in GA!! ad so far liking them alot!!
the one im holding is a brunner/leon morgan RH blend!! 3/4 brunner 1/4 leon morgan.. 2 time winner 1st win at 11 months in a 3 cock and 2nd win in a hack on new year day!! the second pix is a 1/2 kincannon brunner 1/2 carl kelley brunner i like the blend so far they are working well for me!!

I never have got a blue legged one. 95% of mine come white legged and i get a few yellow legged ones but to date never a ble legged. If u do just means someone infused some hatch more than likely in them at some time.

nice brunners guys!!! looks like not many people know about this old blood!! but i guess we all know a little something everyone else dont!! hahahaha
So I got a question for all u guys that has been breeding these brunners for a long time now!! Wat kind of traits do all ur brunners have?? bcus i got 2 differnt brunners from diferent guys and both are almost completly different!! the ones i got from mr ken kincannon are more of a clever type of fowl that can break out really nice and they have great side to side movement also and really are more of a counter puncher style but really on the smaller side, i guess from being so tightly inbred over the years!! the other brunner blood i got came from GA from my friend carl kelly and his are more fast pace and rellentless cutting fowl really great inside game and lots of bottom!! i tried to blend the 2 together and pretty much came out with better fowl then the original but still trying to bring up the size on them!!
My Brunners were a gift from Timberlane GF. Really nice roundheads. Cross really good to radios. I haven't figured out how to put pics on here, otherwise u'd see what I'm talking about. I do however have some on my gallery on gamerooster.com.

I know a man that lives a comfortable driving distance from Raleigh, where Willis Holden was an engineer for the city, that received Bruners from Mr. Holden. After he received them, they occasionally threw a straight comb, a white cock, and a brass back cock and still occasionally throw a blue leg. He said he regrets not breeding any of the sports. As he bred for white leg reds, that's what they are now.
This isn't an advertisement, so please don't ask. I just wanted those that still get a sport to know that when they came from Mr. Holden, who received Mr. Bruner's fowl at his death, the sports were present.
The Allen Roundhead, the Bruner's base bloodline, were reported to also occasionally throw a blue leg.

In my opinion from over the years you are suppose to get blue legg pullets now and then and those pullets will throw nothing but white legg offspring. But most will come white legg with a yellow now and then. Most will be pea comb and a striaght every so often coming. They don't look like normal Roundheads neither. Some will even have the asil look to them. If you are lucky enough to ever get the your hands on some hang on to them......because they are good as any and better than most.

TK Brunner worked for the state of North Carolina,,, i'll guess this is how he became friends with Willis Holden,,,,,,The man that you're speaking of is Russell Poole of which inherited the Bruner fowl,,,,several others had Brunners however the were willed to Poole at Willis Holdens death,,,This is a fact as i have fed cocks and pitted for Russell, was they very first roosters that i fed for another owner,,,,,,and boy did i learn fast as the Brunners are the most cantenkerous birds on the face of earth,,,,lol
