The ones my uncle have are fast they don't have a lot of power or bottom but someone else's may be a little different they break high and are aggressive probably to aggressive for long knife but they are excellent cutters

Johnny Moore ALBANY over a Red Quill hen > Power over Speed! They both have excellent CUTTING already. The Red Quill blood will also increase the height of the break.

The red quill would probably do best in short knife maybe cross for long knife they have been known to be a little hot headed and get themselves killed i crossed mine with brownred cock and now have a regular grey stag with redquill hen

I bet you produced an extremely hot headed gamefowl by crossing a SPEED Fowl like the RED QUILL to another SPEED Fowl like the Brown Red

I could be mistaken but that redquill looked as if he wants to come here in Hawaii and be a broodcock.

we have Red Quills and we love them! we breed them strait and crossed. there is not another breed of gamefowl that has impressed me like the Red Quill. they improve any thing you cross them into. they are awsome cutters and FAST. they just hate another rooster. we cross them with our Brown Reds, our Blues, and we have our own strand of Black Greys that are half Red Quill. check out our photos to see more. our original Red Quill brood cock is 14 years old and still here on the farm breeding. our red quills come dark (ginger) and light (pumpkin) most have black eyes, with green, slate, and accasional blue leg. they all come strait comb. pm for more details.
