You will like them because they are off-beat. Spar them against another brainy type, will not show spectacular performance. They kinda' just bounce, but they have a good lick if within hitting distance. Off beat but sprightly(with speed) not the graceful type.

    Ray Hoskins Fowl

    angdude,
Bruce B or Brian Corkren can tell you most anything you might want to know about them Hoskins fowl. I will attach a photo of a grey cock of Hoskins line that I took at Brian Corkren's last month.
    Hope this helps.

    Ray Hoskins

In the PI, you can get good Ray Hoskins esp. the Yellow Legged Mcleans I thinks from Nene Abello. Some of his Sweater Lines still carry the Hoskins Blood

    Angdude,

Peter Uy has got all of the good lines of Ray Hoskins, from the yellow and green legged mcleans, albany, butcher, and madigin grey. These lines have one common characteristic: they throw a lot of feet. My favorite line!

    hope this helps.

    Ray's Yellow Legs...

In the late 80's we were lucky to obtain a great broodhen that came from Ray Hosskins. It was a yellow legged, peacomb hen, medium station, with a solid rounded body. The offsprings were pretty average as far as fighting style is concern. As Cuffcreek said they are offbeat, good flight in the air and they are one of the better cutting chickens around.
They come wine red, white streamers in the tail, peacomb, powerful chickens and one good character of this breed is they win. From Candon to Quezon province....they can travel yet they still have the heart to fight.
Hope you will find one good breeder in the future of the fowl you're looking for.I think Gene Brown of the Oakgroove fame has the yellow legs from Ray.

    Ray Hoskins YL Mc Leans

    redwings, 3 Oaks;

Are they, Ray Hoskins YL Mc Leans of Nene Abello and Peter Uy, the same as the YL Mc Leans of Mr. Dong Lacson?

    dolphins,

Does the Gene Brown YLH the same as the Ray Hoskins YL Mc Leans?

I will appreciate your reply. Thanks!!!

Probably these three gentlemen have more knowledge about the Ray Hoskins lines today than anyone else in the sport:

    1. James Pope of Texas
    2. Jim Young of Kentucky
    3. Gene Frizzell of Tennessee

I know Gene Frizzell at one time bred many roosters for Ray out of the broodstock Ray had given to Gene. Gene's Greys look identical to the Grey shown by tnerb.

I have Ray Hoskins lines from gene frizzell. All I can say is they are great. Got them thru friendship and shows you they are still gentlemen in this sport. I will breed them as long as I can. The greys and yl mcleans are my favorites.

Hello Marcos, how are you buddy? You probably know those YLMs x Greys are some of Gene's favorites. Have you tried crossing these two lines you got from Gene?

I was at Gene's place last Saturday and I took a few pictures of the Greys they are preparing for the April Poultry shows.

    Sir Engkanto,

Nice greys! How are they related to Bobby's grey? I was able to see and hold Bobby's when it arrived at the broker's place here in Ca. I would have been very nice if we were with Manong Jesse and Bobby in the Philippines. According to Manong Jesse the will be having lunch at my uncles farm tomorrow, kakainggit di ba.

Hi Gerald, I was with them at your Uncles place in San Luis 2 weeks ago.. I was talking to Jesse last night and he told me to join them for lunch again today but I wasnt able to make it. I hope to meet Bobby before he returns there. Saw your YL Mcleans , GL Hatch and Grey and Sonny Ware Sweaters from Gene. Awesome birds.
