I use an extendable pole with a T on the end. I go out at night and touch there breast with it they step up on it and I lower it and catch them. No chasing or frightening them. Easy as pie. Set them on the roost in the round pens and they don't even realize they have been caged. Go right to cutting a wing and eating in the AM.

Yep it is that. Time of year. Had a little cool snap and that or a good rain will sometimes get em feeling cocky. I've been catching the bosses every few days for a month now. I've got 24 penned and a gang coming on. Once you get the boss it is on usually. I had a stag break on a cock this morning. I'm glad I was around or I would have probably had a badly beaten cock. I'll have to start catching 3-4 every day for a while.

I cant post picks. But it used to be a limb trimmer. The fiberglass poles are hollow I just whittled a broom handle about a foot long to slide down in tight. Then screwed another about 6 inches long perpendicular to it to form the T or roost.

Roberts I know how your feel, If I let them range 1 day too long I lose a cock because they will fight through the fence. I have all wire pens and this is always a problem trying to prevent disaster.
