i posted on here a while back asking the same question. There were many answers with videos about dubbing, which is not the same. also, got a response with a series of photos from "liza galore" but they really dont help. maybe someone will make a post with photos or video of how it's done from head to toe!

My kids show old english bantams so I had to learn to dub for the old english look.
Here it goes. You'll need a pair of curved scissors.
    Remove waddles and ear lobes.
First thing you need to remove is the blade of the comb, not to close from where the base attaches to the head in a straight line.
Next with the curb of the scissors pointing up remove the points and part of the base start at the back leaving about a quarter of an inch and doing a straight line towards the beak.
Last take your scissors and round the upper back and they should have that smooth rounded look that judges like.

Confusing cause no one said feathers. But feathers is the easiest part to do cause if you mess up they grow back I learned 30 years ago just by watching my grandpa do it. Just be careful when trimming around the vent. I personally like the look like the picture red fox had on the back of the gamecock mag.

that's still not what they mean...

they mean the way they did it in old england... they cut all the tail feathers(all now, hen feathers and sickle feathers) down to about 6 inches, the tips of the wings back to equal lenghths on each cock, and if i am correct they also cut the shawl feathers back to equal lengths along with the saddle feathers...

to be honest i don't know why you would want to do it... they look hidius to me, but everyone has their own taste i guess

Probably this video will give you an idea on how they should look like when dubbing.

maybe i was wrong... i "battle trim" all mine so i assumed whn they said old english style they were talking about like in the picture... just a plain ole battle trim is easy to do...

And yeah, they cut all but like 6 in of the tail off the old way, like i said i think it is very ugly.... i wonder what jdtennessee was looking for in battle trimming?

Take your screen saver pic n practice on your birds. Couldn't be much harder than givin a hair cut.

What i was looking for was a "battle" trim. I just wanted someone that was good at it to explain their techniques. Most people battle trim their fowl after mid april, but some people are better than others.

It's just like docking the ears and tails on dogs. I wouldn't THINK it's illegal but havn't looked it up or anything.
If a person can be circumcised at birth, cutting Combs and docking ears should be just as legal. Lol
