    Black crossed w/ Grey

I have heard from many experienced cockers that Greys are improved when crossed with Blacks. Based on your experience or knowhow, which among the blacks nick with Greys?

    Thank you so much.

    black / grey cross

I cross my brownreds with my greys . I like em , they win more than they lose . They make some of the ugliest greys you've ever seen .

    black crossed to greys

We crossed a Sid/roundhead cock over a grey Dan Gray hen. THe result is awesome.. The greys with regular grey features won already, strong cutters and powerful breakers. The Black grey cock that came out is yet to be fought.. He should do well as he is the best among his bunch and my favorite too:lol:

the key is a solid grey hen coming from winning family

the broodcock can be a solid nigger roundhead or a brownred.

speed black cock over power cutting grey hens.

these blackgreys of kenneth chua destroyed all sweaters assigned against them in last battle of champions 7 cock derby with entry fee of 100,000.- pesos.

    Well done Buhawi...congratulations

Wow, I am impressed Buhawi. Very encouraging.
I have seen a Sid Taylor crossed with a Gavilan Hatch Grey. It possesed some power, multiple strokes, and awesome timing and cut.

    Many thanks.

    p.s.

    ellisgamefowl,
I have an eye for ugly looking gamefowl that could really kill...and that's the bottom line.

My uncle(Ram Lopez) had quite a good run with his Joe Goode grey crossed with Macrae blacks from bobby jones. Good cutting and smart fighting I believe came from the grey side and the blacks pack quite a whallop. Ive bred them for 3 years and they still win in the big fights.

As far as BDJ`s bloodlines. We have his Joe Goode kelsos. CHAINSAW KELSO. Macrae Black. Joe Goode Grey. We used to have his Blueface hatch. But my uncle fought them all. Are you in contact with Bobby?

    buhawi,

That is one awesome looking grey. My kind of rooster. Nice station, good feathering, and broad back. No wonder he is called a sweater killer.

    HI CARLOS !
So can you tell me more about your nigger roundhead? Are you very happy with it? Does it have the cut and brains and speed we expect from a dark fowl? Na test mo na ba sa pit in long knife?

    Hope to hear from you.

    Silver2dmoon,

I have fought about five stags from the bunch, the first one was at 11 months old that won almost untouch. The other four, 3 win but dead and the other one lost.

They cut very well and the speed was there. They were crossed with a ruble hatch. I had another cross with Mclean hatch almost 10 months old and they do look promising.

I had no luck breeding pure since I acquired them, hence I have never tried them pure in the long knife. The half hatch/niggerroundhead cross with the shuffler grey are devastating.

    Hope to have help you.

    Carlos

    BLACK X GREY

The cross is always an interesting one. Because if you take a closer look at it, you will find it as classical as the hatch x claret or roundhead x hatch.
Blacks are known for speed. But most blacks are also notorious for wanting in gameness. On the other hand, the greys are slow but most are dead game and possess good cutting ability. Thus, the black grey cross is complementary or corrective mating in nature. But remember breeding is not as simple as that.
In practice, sometimes, one has to resort to either one of the two bloodlines twice in or thrice in, to effectively correct the weakness of the other.
    HAPPY EASTER!!!

i have a freind who bred sid over gray and had seven cocks out of this cross he fought in gaff .three of the seven won in first pitting and six of the seven won their first fights.of the seven cocks he fought he won 19 fights losing only two fights and three roosters.very quick aggressive tried to get him to take them to derby but he is content to hack these awsome cocks for 50.00 a piece. go figure
