What do u guys think is the most high sprung hatch line? Do u think the bates is one of the most superior. I can't really seem to find the information I am seeking about these bates hatches.

    Re: Bates hatch

I mean the type rooster with the high pressure an keep the pressure with lots of bottom and power. Not lookin for smartys where they sway and dodge a lot. Just lots of feet bottom and power. This is the type hatch I am lookin for. My uncle used to have some but doesn't have anymore. It's rare to have one in Hawaii. I don't think I could say I've ever seen em or know Anyone who has some real ones. Thanks for everyone's replys.

    Re: Bates hatch

These cocks still had a good bit of feed in their crawl that day it slowed em down a little I just had the video handy and decided to post. I video all my sparring and look at it over and over when I pick out my candidates.I have 2 families of bates the red and spangle but all my reds carry a little of the spangle blood both these hatches have been good to me great power and aggressive if you get another cock down you don't have to worry about him coming back they are great finishers also have great cutting ability for hatches i speak only of when legal of course and American shows

About 10-15 years ago a friend gave dad a bates cock he purchased from Bill Bumgardner . We named him Pretty Boy as he was perfect in every way. His sons won about 90% bred to butchers and mugs. Wish I had another like him. He was st. comb.

couldnt edit but I messed up the 3/4blueface cock was from Eddie gooch not Johnny Mitchell but still Percy flowers blood.

Sister hens turning 2 this yr both got white tip in tail breeding back to ol spangle hoping for some like him on all ways. Have to single mate them or loose one they are both really dominate. Not sure how everyone views spurred hens but they both grew spurs like a stag would and now at two are both double spurred size of four five yr old hens spurs...
