some years back they used to fight hennies in the big
derbies but lately I was told they no longer allow it.
however, in the topadas and hackfights they still do.

Mate of mine refers to them as cross dressers....
If you get a good one, they are really good, if not they're really bad. I like a good Black hennie myself.

Last I heard Hennies were not allowed to compete in 1st divisions in Mexico. They created too much of advantage when showing because the other birds couldn’t tell if they were cocks or hens.

    Re: HENNIES is competition??

we’ve missed a couple championships because we matched into hennies. dang my roosters just were not into the fight until it’s too late. and yes the LK is too unforgiving that recovery is almost impossible once you give them the first free shot. anyway since too many places allow them (house rules apply), i just decided to get me a few hennies and use them as regular sparring partners. i think we’ve eliminated the disadvantage. hopefully for good. fis

I would of thought, that it is fair to fight what you want. Never heard of the no HENNIE RULE, but spoke to guys that love'm and hate em. Kind of like Asils and Asil crosses, you can love them or hate them.

Just had a "Brain Fart". A Hennie, Asil cross would be double deadly. Just a thought.

I crossed a Roy Gray brownred cock on a pair of sister black Cuban hennie hens last summer. I have a few henny stags from the cross. I hope they can work a down bird better than the straight brownred. They are for the American show

No, never heard of the no Hennie rule, indoors or out in the bush. Cockers, pay the entree fee, which gives the right to harvest their livestock, back in the day when it was legal.

No one should be afraid to fight Hennies, just keep a couple of them around, for sparing. I might be wrong, because the only time I seen one it was good. Visited gamefowl farms and it was common to see a few hennies in their collection.

    Re: HENNIES is competition??

I met into a guy with a whole show of henny they were pretty good he won 3 straight that day I knocked him out of the money on his 4th fight but my rooster wasn't really into it until that sob hug the gaffs in me once then it was on I'd hate to meet one in the knife and let it get the first good lick. I bred a butcher over a very tight bred Albany hen a while back and all those stags had a henny look to them they did very good for me all 5 won their first 2 had one that went 4 and one that got went 7 or 8

Hi there deadly b, just being curious. What does “1st Division Competition” mean? My wild guess is it’s a Major league or Big Time event/derby, but it would really be nice to know exactly what it is. Thanks

Anyway, with the little I know about artificial heels, Hennies should not be allowed in any 1 1/2” to 4” Knife competition. Just being deadly that’s why.
