    Gravitation pull on game fowl

What is your experences on gravitation pull effects on your birds ? I have 2 vets tell me that all animals bleed more when there is a full moon. So, when is the best time to cut combs, ect. I often wonder if this also effects the conditioning of the birds during the last week or last 2-3 days of the keep as far as resting . I have always heard that a lot of people don't sleep well during the full moon.the police all over the country say they have more problems with people during the full moon as well.

I always try to trim my fowl a day or two one way or the other of a new moon. As far as showing or resting we all condition and show under the same moon. I'd say that my cocks crow and flap their wings all night on a full moon. But if I was showing in a few days themed never see it. Not much help but it's all I got.

Or Some fowl don’t have a constitution for being cut. I’ve never been concerned about moon phases. Birds that can’t handle trimming are a cull.

Whenever we get a cold front here lol which to most northeners is a cool front, I dub regardless of moon. Have no choice but its never affected anything. They may bleed a lil more who knows, take the water away and it shld help minimize that Ive trimmed straight combs where the back was about 1 inch wide and it took some effort to start it off lol. They lived but like said I have to take advantage of what I get here.
    Best wishes

I want gamefowl effected less by all changes in environment. I don’t want to dance when I don’t have too.

Reminds me of an old man I knew when I was a kid. He kept a family of greys but only bred about 30 of them every year. Seemed like every time you saw him fight them, he would win the derby. I Asked him one time why he didn't breed more of them. He said they only won when the derby happened to fall on a full moon so he couldn't fight them very often. Don't know if there was any truth to it but he sure believed it.

Makes me feel a lot better I'm not the only one who fights according to the moon.

If you get if right...they're almost unstoppable.

I don't win every derby I'm in...but I'm in the money just about everytime.

    Jay,
i do think that a hgh strung breed or a certain cross may fight better in certain moon phases. I also think it my be more usefull for a small breeder that only fights a few.

Jay, i am going to stick my neck out and say i bet thoses greys were as tame as kittens and travled well. When all the rest of them were crowing and flapping there wings all night thoses greys were resting good all night long. That is the point i am trying to make. Large breeders can take plently of birds to select on fight day , but a small breeder can't to select from.

Re: Gravitation pull on game fowl

When I select for the moon it starts from their first spar.

Record book on sparring is a must for this.

Wing band or tattoo...or however you mark but keep track of him.

Take note on what moon phase you're on.

    Rate his performance.

Do this on a different moon phase...every month

By the time he is ready to show.

Your record book will tell you what moon phase he should go in.

    But to each their own

Moon phases and weather fronts effect all animals. Weather you like it or not. You cant hide them from it. But you can feed accordingly.

Almost all the tricks come full circle ... moon phases , mushroom tea , super foods .... roosters that cycle . Knife is different so go all for signs , scales and phases ... but in the heel , the steel will bring out their weakness . There are plenty of birds that will put on a show , but their heart was never in it .... from their first spar to everything they do , a gaff man is better off being honest with himself and not falling for anything

EVERYTHING can effect chickens. Whats nice about it is it effects ALL birds. So, if people know how to compensate for it. More power to them. I prefer BREEDING for fowl that aren't bothered by nothing.

To me this makes more sinse than most of the rest. We all show under the same moon, the same sun, the same weather. Adjust and go on. No need dwelling on something you can't change. Change what needs changing. Do your best to stay on top of it.

i am in the caribbean and i was not one to believe in the moon phase so i decided to observe for myself and its been proven season after season that grays win in the full moon actually they dominate and here we fight the postiza. superstitious or not non believer or believer i have seen it with my own eyes. when theory becomes practical its hard to dispute
