Nice, thanks for the info. In your breeding when your bred the Asil did the chick come out looking more Asil?

What qualities would you say are added when bred to that small a percentage? Smarts? Liveability? Better bodies? I wanted to experiment with some half asil half American pullets, but only those that favor the asil side very strongly. So that I could use the quarters and hopefully as smart asil with the agility of Americans. But I think I would lose consistancy although I thought breeding the best son back to the best half hens. 1/4 asil,1/4kelso,half albany (example only) back to 1/2 asil,1/2 kelso=3/8 asil,3/8 kelso,1/4 albany. Too far fetched? Maybe. Possible to set as family? I would not think so. Chance of a golden cross? Would have to breed a lot to cull down to a few aces and then would it even be cost efficent? Might be fun but don't know anyone with half and half hens to try.

During the first few generations did all of their head get smaller or you selected them to be?

was breeding Asil for a while then came the Peruvian craze tried them both but I still prefer the Asil they will contribute fighting style while the Peruvian will always tend to rush in for the kill.

Never know Sammy, Im sure there havw been more mixes than 3 ways via 3 way cross before. I have bred a half hen, quarter quarter back to the half, knocking the quarter quarter to an eight each and 3x4th of one blood. Since the Albany has RH in it, that Ahseel back to Albany is worth a shot. I wonder how theyd differ if you bred one half Asil hen from Aseel dad and one that came from the Kelso dad Aseel mom back to Albany. All of that matters, I mean it cld be the underlying factor to a huge difference in the progeny. I know of some that cross Asil with Albany quite often. Takes time, get after it
    Best wishes Sam

The Asil I’ve seen were smart but slow. The peruvian I’ve seen were Fast but overly aggressive.

Offsprings will still be big, heavy, and late maturing. And good performers(cocks) and selected hens would qualify only as brood materials.
